Even if it doesn't allow entrance, I was told by CR that I will not lose my FP+ selections. So maybe they'll switch out the media, but the FP+ is tied to the band, not the ticket?

Correct. Fp+ is attached to your MDE file - guests have reported using Fp+ on MagicBands even when the linked guest did not enter the park.

But, as PPs stated, the Fp+ may or may not work for you. When you enter your first park, ask a Fp+ iPad CM to check your MagicBand to confirm your Fp+ selections. If nothing shows, then use your Silver Pass to make Fp+ selections that match your group.

Unfortunately I can't use my silver pass on president's day weekend because the other guests in my party wanted to see the parks in a specific order, an order that negates my SP. So I need to use the comped tickets.

From the HUB:

Cast Members may now use their Main Entrance Passes to admit Guests into Magic Kingdom Park from Saturday, Feb. 15 through Tuesday, Feb. 18, which were previously blocked out. The block-outs at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park remain in place.

Don't know if that affects your sequencing or not.

So I need to use the comped tickets. Not clear on your logic. You said I could give them my comped passes and they'd still have access to their original FP+ selections. Why wouldn't I still have access to my FP+ selections, even if they make me switch the tickets out for different ones? Contrary to what everyone is saying, I'm having no issue making FP+ selections with my uploaded comp tickets. The only issue is that I don't know the priority of usage, which is an issue because of the varying expiration dates.

Because your Fp+ selections were based on comp e-tickets which means they may not be valid when you attempt to scan your MagicBand at a Fp+ tapstile. Also, some CMs have received reprimands for attempting to link CM ticket media to MDE and MagicBands.

I don't understand. The tickets loaded just fine when I entered them. The system is allowing me to add FP+ attractions. Other than not being able to prioritize usage, it seems to be allowing me to do everything.

Are you saying that my magic band with the current tickets attached will not work once I get to the gate? If that were the case, wouldn't customer service have told me that when I just called and said that I uploaded my comp tickets and couldn't differentiate between them? They said nothing about comp tickets not working.

I don't know where you work that you are a CM and do not know this information but the reason that the person at customer service does not know as they are not used to dealing the CM questions.

CM are always going to rely on information given to them through the WDW Hub and several on here have been nice enough to share that with you and yet you seem determined not to believe them.

My family went to WDW over this past Christmas/NYE. We accidentally uploaded CM comps to MDE account for one of my family members to use for the whole trip not knowing we weren't supposed to. We left them linked and made FP+ reservations too for every day. Long story short, they worked linked to the magic band for entry every single day and every single one of their FP+ reservations worked. So technically you aren't supposed to link the tickets, but if you did already they'll work.

Did the "linked"" tickets work for entry into the parks or did they need to be switched to RFID? Interesting that the FP+ reservations were still attached to the Magic Band.

The linked tickets worked with the bands. Didn't need to convert them to RFID.

Not sure this is correct. The comped tickets uploaded to the system just fine. I simply opened each one up individually and then added them using the MDE site. As I stated, I can't tell how it will prioritize the ticket usage, but I can definitely choose FP+ attractions (and I'm staying at a Disney hotel, if that matters).

So again, how do I prioritize or re-upload just the tickets I need so that I can be align my FP+ with the rest of my group.

Hub clearly instructs CMs NOT to try and put their comp tickets on My Disney Experience ap.

I received comp PH e tickets from my brother. He said there are block out dates, but they aren't listed on the e ticket. Do 1 Day PH comp e tickets have block out dates? How can I find out what the dates are?
Thanks in advance.

Comp tickets do not have block outs, only Main Entrance Passes (guest passes).

I did the same thing a few months ago. I linked the CM Comp ticket to mine and my girlfriends MDE account not knowing we weren't supposed to. When we got to Epcot and saw the line for Guest Relations we decided to chance it and try to use the Magic Bands to get in without ever exchanging them. When we got up to the readers we had our paper vouchers out and the CM told us that the magic bands wouldn't work but we could try. Sure enough, they both worked and the CM told us that she had never seen them work like that. :confused3

There are two types of comp tickets. First there are the Main Entrance passes and guest passes. These are blue plastic cards and the cast member MUST be there for you to use them. These types cannot be linked to MDE because they are intended to be re-used for different guests throughout the CM employment. If these tickets are linked Yes they will work but the CM will encounter them becoming void and will need to pay to replace them.

The second type are complimentary E tickets. These the CM prints off the computer and has it converted to green plastic media. The CM is not required to be in attendance when these passes are used and can be given as gifts. These tickets CAN be linked to MDE.

And these Complementary E-tickets have no Block out dates for sure? I'm hearing a different story from my brother who gave them to me. I just don't want to be turned away from the gate. I will call Disney to confirm and post if I find out something different.

Thanks!

So, it doesn't matter if the Comp is from a current WDW CM or from an ABC/ESPN CM, all Comps will link?

Complimentary tickets (printed out via computer) have no block-outs even on the busiest days! :)

This thread helped me SO much. I too have a bunch of the e-tickets saved up, that are linking to MDE from my time working for disney. I was wondering if I would be able to make fp+ reservations with them during my resort stay but I am no longer a cast member so I have no HUB access.

Glad to know that if they are linked they should work. Does it simply see how many days total you have tickets for and allow you to fp+ for that? Or for your whole stay, regardless? I will have 3 days of 1 day passes and also a 1 day no MK pass that was bought in my package.

OK - I have an AP. I have a friend who wants to go with me for the day and he has a relative who is a CM. The CM said he would get him in. He did this before but there was no ticket of any kind used. They just walked up together and entered the park.

How do we get them FP's so they can actually hit the attractions with us?

This is awesome news. We were trying to schedule our week around the black out dates of Easter week, but now will have much more flexibility.

Thanks to this forum and all your help!

To those it may concern:

If you are using the "printed out, paper complimentary CM ticketing", you (or the CM) MUST change them over to the plastic RFID media before entering the park. Please do not show up at the touch-point entry with the paper ticketing. We will send you to Guest Relations and the wait may be lengthy depending on the time of day.

If you are coming in on the CM's Main Entrance Pass, you will follow the CM through the touch-point entry and will use one of the CM's Guest Passes (blue hard plastic care with the words Guest Pass clearly shown on it) and you will have to return it at the end of the day.

You will get FP's for that day at the kiosk locations thruout the park. At this time, per the HUB, (see the Complimentary Tickets module on the HUB) do not link either the comp tickets or the Guest Passes to the MDE app (hate that work - should be application - just another modern butchering of the English language).
