Hi Lenny,

Fellow guide book junkie here! I probably have about 50 on Orlando alone, although admittedly many of them are reprints.

Until I discovered 'A Brit's Guide' a couple of years back (well, when I joined the DIS to be precise), the one that endured the most was The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger. It mainly covers Disney, although there are sections on Universal and Sea World.

Kelly Monaghan's Universal Orlando is good, but in desperate need of updating - the latest edition pre-dates the opening of Hard Rock Hotel.

If you get the passporter, I would get the deluxe edition - looks like a large filofax. It has great pockets in it. Each year you only have to get the refill:)

I think there are only 10 pass pockets in it, so you might want to order extra at the same time :)

I agree with the previous comments about passporter. It is excellent. I ended up with the standard version as I was worried that the Deluxe wouldn't be in stock in time. Still, a very useful publication.

The Deluxe comes in a leather bound filofax style jacket - with pockets to keep tickets etc in. The next year you just buy the refill.

The Standard comes with a very strong card cover.

IMHO The deluxe is well worth the pennies :)

I love Frommers Walt Disney World and Orlando and you get a free map. I also liked the unofficial guide but I thought the passporter was just okay but that's just me, loads of people rave about it.

We also bought almost every WDW guide book available when we went last year and my top three (no particular order) were :

1. Passporter - loads ofgreat detailed info
2. Unofficial - quite gigglesome in places
3. Brits Guide - its great to have the Brit touch - thanks for this one Simon.

and I propose getting the updated versions for our next visit(s), May (and hopefully) December next year.

Re Passporter where did you get your Deluxe versions from?, I'd like to get the Deluxe 2003 version but noticed Amazon say that the 2002 is not available from them, did anyone get one direct from publishers?, if so get caught by customs?.

I agree, Passporter is EXCELLENT.

If you order it from Amazon, rather than passporter.com it should arrive quicker.

Also, if you have kids, WDW for kids by kids is a superb book and keeps children occupied for hours on the plane, or in the car. It has opinions from other children and even has games and top hints.
