I haven't done the program yet, but the main reason I applied was because I truly love Disney. Besides having 2 friends that have went through the program and loved it. The key starter for me was in 2002 in high school. I was in the marching band (alto sax :cool1:) and I had the great honor and privilege of performing in front of Cinderella's castle at WDW. That single performance lifted me up so high. It was so magical. :wizard: That castle has such an aura, you know? Am I getting crazy here? :hippie: Sorry hehe but I really believe it gives off a really strong aura or magical like...invisible field of oooh I can't explain it, but if anybody gets me please let me know. Plus, ever since I got Cinderella's autograph in DLR at 10 yrs old I thought she was the queen of Disney princesses. Anybody wants to argue with me on that, you won't win, sorry! Ooook apart from the whole "Disney" thing.....

I am too old to be fooling around here. I applied to be a serious, mature, responsible, reliable employee with a hope to become full time. This is my last semester at college, so I'm gonna need a job desperately. I don't really care about the money right now because I know how hard it is to get a "real" paying job. I don't want to pressure myself with that right now. I would just like to work for Disney for a couple of years and see what happens from there. If I am not accepted into this program, let me tell you how devastated I will be. :sad2::sad1:   And since I'm moving across the country, I'm gonna need a job in place b4 I get there so I won't be broke and homeless. :scared1:

I did the CP program last fall (Fall 2008 advantage). I loved every minute of it. I did the program because I have a passion for disney, most of the people I have come in contact during the program, really loved disney and want to be there to contributed to "Walt" legacy. But there is a small percentage that come for a "free vacation" from school. That small percentage didn't last long. But majority of the people you meet loved disney despite the pay you get, work because they love what they are doing. I'm finishing school in december and will be doing another CP program in spring if I don't get in a Professional Internship. Good luck "ZOE DISNEY":thumbsup2 and to everyone that is still waiting or think about applying. It will be a great experience, you will never forget.

I did the Spring Advantage 08 program, and I remember telling my interviewer that I loved Disney SOO much and wanted to be a part of that family SOO much that I would clean the bathrooms for free if they let me.

In the end, I got paid...not for cleaning the bathrooms but for making people smile. Being in Entertainment I feel that I really got to be part of the Magic that makes disney.

And working there, seeing the ins and outs of such an incredible company...it just made me love and respect it so much more.

Growing up in Miami and going to disney at least twice a year...yeah the place just felt like home.

Yeah and it did kinda feel like an 8 month vacation.

I did my CP in August 05- May 06, my PI from Jan-June 09, and am looking forward to going full time with the company in the next few months.

I did the program because I really love disney. I grew up going at least once a year.

However, I have found that a lot of people on my college program actually had never been to Disney before and did the internship just to get Disney on their resume. Disney is a huge thing to have on a resume if you live outside of the central florida area and many people want to take advantage of that.

While some people do have that attitude, I'm sure most people you encounter will love Disney just as much as you do!

Have fun and enjoy your program!

Hey there, I'm an alum from the Career Start program of 07' and I loved every minute of it as I'm sure almost everyone that went did. I went because I love Disney and I needed some time to think of what I wanted to major in, but I got a lot more than I expected. I made so many new friends and met my girlfriend (who's from China, I might add) there. It was our two year anniversary three days ago!

Anyway, I knew quite a few people there who had never been to Disney World before and didn't even know much about it, my girlfriend was one of these people. Yes, this is definitely a great resume booster so I don't blame them. I keep in contact with many of the people I met on the program to this day and there are a good few who are still there working, some on their third program even! A lot of us talk about going back, and I'm one of the only ones I know who haven't gone back to work there.

Bottom line is, I think most of the people I met loved Disney and wanted to just escape there for a while. It seemed like everyone couldn't get enough of it while they were there. Sure work can be tough sometimes but yeah, it's definitely like a loooooooooooong vacation with a ton of new friends. :)

I haven't been yet (I'm in the waiting period for CS '10 :cool1:) but the reason I applied is simply because I am addicted to Disney. I grew up with Disney - watching the movies, singing the songs, changing my name from Nala to Pocahantos to Meg - and, once I went to Disney World, found my second home there. I've been numerous times, and have never gotten tired of the Disney magic. Not even close.

They could give me a job in Disney World that no one else would even consider, and I would gladly do it, just because that means that I will be living, eating, and breathing Disney World. :goodvibes

That said, I'm going to go refresh my inbox! :surfweb:
