It's much easier in Orlando. Some fast food and counter service places have very few vegetarian items available, and it is easiest just to avoid these places. In other places there are either items which are suitable, or you can ask for something to be prepared for you (most places will oblige).

Hi

I am a veggie too, in most of the on-site restaurants I had no problem getting a meal, alway's ask your server or get it noted on your PS. I hear Boma is very good for veggies - we are going to try it next time :D

Hi Lenny

I am the only vegetarian in my family and find it not too bad in Orlando. The main thing you miss is Quorn, they don't seem to use it at all, if I am wrong, somebody correct me please!

For a nice lunch I love to go to the Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom, they do a brilliant vegetable sandwich. Also the breakfast buffet at Crystal Palace also in Magic Kingdom, you can eat as much as you like, so it's great for me as I just pick out the things I want, plenty of fruit etc and fried eggs! ;)

How strict a veggie are you? Do you eat eggs and dairy products. I don't eat fish, but maybe you do as I know some veggies do, though it is not really 'veggie' to eat fish but each to their own!

I always find www.wdwig.com very good for showing menus.

HTH :D

My DD is a veggie, and in general we alway manage to get her fed OK. I would say do AVOID any character meals that are preplated, as even if you ask for no meat, it will have been on the plate and any pork grease will have made it's way into your eggs bread etc. In general the buffets work best for us in these situations (character meals). I agree the Olive Garden is a good place to go, there are a couple of other good Italian places along the 192 if that's where you're staying. If you fancy a burger, Jungle Jims does everyone of it's offering in a choice of beef, chicken or veggie burger.and it's a pretty cheap and fun place to eat.

....... if/when you make Priority Seating arrangements for any of the Disney restaurants, be sure to say that you are vegetarians and ask what they can offer you - some of the top restaurants e.g. Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge will, as long as you've told them at least 24 hours out, will be happy to cook something especially for you.

I would just like to say that Chillis is a fab resturant and is very suitable for meat eaters or veggies. Also Golden Coral are good for veqqies as to are Indain resturant opposite sweet tomatoes and Cafe TuTu Tango(think its called that) all on international drive.

Hi Lenny,
Been very busy for a while which is why I didn't see your post earlier.
I spent 3 weeks on I. Drive last August with my husband and son who are meataholics and my daughter who is a vegetarian who doesn't like vegetables! I am vegetarian myself - no meat (including fowl) or fish, but I take eggs and dairy produce such as cheese.
We never had a real problem anywhere that we ate, which was mainly on I. Drive. You don't say where your're staying, but our favourites on I. Drive were:
Bahama Breeze
Race Rock
Darryls (the guys loved the meat)
Hooters (the guys loved the uniform!)
Cafe Tu Tu Tango
Don Pablos
TGI Fridays (NOT the Sports Grill) off I. Drive.
Around Universal we really liked Hard Rock Cafe -
be sure to tell the staff if it's someone's birthday!
In Disney we did the Fantasmic package at MGM Studios - the restaurant we picked was Hollywood & Vine which was great as it was a buffet and you could go back as often as you liked. Generally speaking, the "sit-down" restaurants in Disney are much better value than the "fast-food" types.
Anyhow, we ALL loved the food in Orlando generally, so I'll be surprised if you have any serious problems!
Let us know how you get on.
Sandra
