Your card will only be charged for what you use. If you spend $500, that's the amount which will be authorized. WDW doesn't try to put a "hold" for $1500 on your card. I've had stays where I've not charged a penny to my room--you may want to do that and just use your credit card as you go along at each meal or shop.
