This is too cute, what a way to start my morning!

And I was psyched that DH agreed to the Disney stick-figures on the back of our new car! I think I need to email him this thread so show him that I have more plans for the car! :rotfl:

I love the glow-in-the-dark Mickey decals! Where did you get them?
It's custom made, Not decals. It's Engineer grade reflective vinyl. The same thing the police and EMS use. Next time you watch COPS you'll probably see the same blue. :thumbsup2
Sminnoid... check your Private messages box! I'm sending you a PM.

Wow! That is some serious Mickey love. I don't know that I'd have the ... you know... to do that. This coming from the woman that has four tattoos and another large one on her back. lol

That is so cool!!!! Way to be adventuresome enough to do this! I'm sure it brightens many people's days! :yay:

Is it legal to have your car lit up with glow in the dark stuff at night? NOT being snarky here, I just can't remember if there are rules about that. I know where I live you can only have certain sized lights under your vehicle if you put lights under them.

It looks neat. But I think personally I'd be a little paranoid if I saw some big glow in the dark van driving around. ;)

I don't know that we would be allowed the glow in the dark but man, that looks awesome!!!! I love it!

I Love It! Showed it to DH and his reply was "That's nice." He probably doesn't want me getting any ideas. Too late :rotfl:

I also am wondering about the legal side.
I bought my son these cute little snake shaped water sprayers for the windshield stuff that had blue light eyes. The lights were tiny, like the heads of a sewing pin but he got stopped and told they had to be removed. He got a $40 ticket and had to go to the police station once they were removed before he could pay the ticket. Of course I paid the ticket.
I couldn't understand why they sold them at the Auto Zone if they were illegal.
Since then I have seen those lights on other cars but of course my son got caught.
I wonder if the glow stuff might be illegal in some states. Be careful on long drives.
But of course, I would do it to my car if I could. My oldest son always says my car looks like WDW vomit. When I bought a new car a few months ago I purposly bought a white one with black trim so when I decorate it I won't clash with my Mickey black, white, red and yellow.

My wife and I are expecting a little girl in a couple of months. Since I know that she does not like minivans, I have been teasing her about getting a minivan after the baby comes. She has adamently stuck to her 'no minivans' position.

A few minutes ago, I emailed her a few pics of your van. She emailed back "I would drive this minivan".

We saw your van at Pop Century every day and night.... Funny though we never saw it glow... Sad I missed that!

It doesn't actually "glow". It's reflective. It only "glows" when light hits it at night. In the pictures the light source is from the camera flash.
No light = no glow. As I said earlier, it's the same type reflective vinyl you see on ambulances and police cars. :thumbsup2 It's perfectly legal. Now if it said POLICE... that would be a different matter, but the vinyl itself is completely legal. Most 18 wheelers already use it.

By any chance did you stay at Pop Century in the 90's section at the beginning of May???? because I'm pretty sure I saw your van in the parking lot and thought it was really cool!!!!!!

Yes. That was us also. That was when it only had half as much work done on it. It had Mickeys on both sides, but none on the back, and only a couple on the hood in the front. It also had stock wheels then and none of the extra touches.:thumbsup2
I'm interested in seeing any other Disney vehicles out there as well!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper:
Any other Disney creations???

Check out the pictures! I realize my "over the top" sense of humor isn't for everyone. That's fine as well.
Everywhere we go people are waving and clapping, and giving us the thumbs up! So the positive response FAR outweigh any negative ones. We have only had one negative one thus far, and it was (of all places) in Orlando last week when a Disney hater saw the van and shot us the bird.:lmao::happytv::rotfl2: She also nearly ran 2 people off the road, so I think she had bigger issues than just the van.
We have actually had people run out of their cars at gas stations and snap pictures of the van. I never dreamed the modifications would be this much fun!!! People pull up beside us at stop lights, roll down the windows, and tell us how much they love the van and Mickey.
Apparently Mickey Mouse has a following much larger than I originally expected because a lot of the people have never even been to Disney. They just like Mickey!::MickeyMo:earsboy:

To answer a few questions:
Yes, I COULD peel it off, but NO I won't.
Yes, it's "permanent". I COULD peel it, but it wouldn't be easy at all. Anyone out there who does vinyl graphics will back me up on that one!!!
No, it didn't hurt my resale value. Its an older van. Who cares anyways??? It makes us happy. Besides, if I listed it on ebay... I believe I could get my initial investment and some out of it.
Its made of REFLECTIVE VINYL. It has to be designed on a computer, re-designed for the exact make/model, and then imposed onto a picture of the van. Then you just have it plotted and cut, applied to transfer, and then applied to the van.
Can you do it? I hope not.:rotfl2: I'd like mine to be one of a kind!:rotfl2: But if it makes you happy, and as long as your not in my town... GO FOR IT!!!:rotfl2:
We are basically done with it now. A lot of people were emailing me and asking me to keep them informed when we finished it, so here is the end result!

Needless to say no more 100 MPH trips to Disney.:guilty: Looks like were stuck doing the speed limit from now on. We sure cant tell the officer they have the wrong person.:rotfl: Oh well, its safer anyways. Especially with it glowing at night. More visibility = less chance of "I didn't see you!"

Wow! That is different than what I expected when I saw the thread title.

However, not sure if you want to broadcast your tags and your state to the whole internet world. You may want to smudge those out.

To be honest, I don't think there is anything they can do with them. I once got the tag number of a guy who was snooping up and down my neighborhood acting really suspicious. He did this for a couple of days, several times a night, and would speed off when I came outside. I wrote down his tags and proceeded to find out who he was. I called the NCDMV, the Highway Patrol, and several others. No one would give me any info about him. The man I spoke to at the HP said all records were confidential, and the only way they would even look them up was if a felony were committed. They said even then the info wouldn't be available to me unless I was the victim and a lawsuit were involved.
Besides, my van is on the road a lot. They could always take them down at Costco or Sams if they really wanted them.
If anyone knows FOR CERTAIN any ways they could use it against you please PM me. I would be interested in knowing.
