Ok, this is far down the road, but DBF and I are planning on eloping and not having a traditional honeymoon afterwords. We are going to wait a year (ie save money) and go on a honeymoon in Disney for our one year anniversary. Is this done at all? We would have to get the buttons that say anniversary and not be able to get the bride and groom disney hats? I know we COULD but just wondering if this was ever done?

Just something I was wondering about and knew the DIS would be the place to get this type of info.

Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!

As for eloping and doing a honeymoon later...GO FOR IT!!! It's your life and you should do whatever makes you happy! I know of several couples who have never had a real honeymoon and even after many years (like 15-20) they are deciding to go somewhere together!

You can get "anniversary" buttons at Guest Services and definitely wear the bride and groom ears if you want (lots of folks do)...they're not just for newlyweds. Some people wear them just after getting engaged, and some wear them for anniversaries.

When are you planning to elope? Have you considered eloping at Disney? And having a Disney Escape wedding with just the two of you?

nothing at all wrong with getting just married buttons or anniversary buttons, whichever you want!! And either way you can of course wear your ears!!

Ahh that what I was hoping to hear! We're not engaged yet (but we know it's happening next year sometime.. and I've stressed that I would REALLY love to be asked in Disney.. :goodvibes .. so I'm hoping it to be our trip next year.. whenever that will be.. probably September2009)..

Edit: Seems like the budget for a Disney Escape Wedding is a bit too much for us. We both want to elope to save money, although it would be wonderful to marry in WDW, I think it's just a little too much. We still would love to do a disney honeymoon though!

We would elope in the spring of 2010 most likely.. usually eloping is a spur of the moment thing I know.. but we want to get engaged first and then tell family and friends about our plans to elope.. that way its not a total surprise.. actually considering Hawaii
