It just drives me nuts that here it is, past the middle of September and they still do not have anything on the Disney website schedule for the first week of November. Yet you go to WDW and they are months ahead in their schedules.

Sorry for the vent. I just like to have things planned and it takes so long to get the schedule up to date. Hopefully by next week it will be up.

I've noticed lately the schedule will be updated when the special offers is updated. Not sure when the September hotels offer expires, but when it does I think the schedule should update as well.

If you were going to WDW you should scream louder. Because you missed the 180 day mark to make ADRs. In DL you can make dining reservations 60 days out, and that is about the distance the calander goes out to as well. It takes longer to fill in the entertainment.

You can find historical hours for DL on many fansites if you want an estimate of what will happen.

I agree with you! I've been told that WDW caters to guest from out-of-state, so they need to post their schedule in advance whereas DL caters to locals so a couple months out is seen as sufficient. I think that's unfair to those of us trying to prepare a trip more than 2 months away.

Sorry folks, but only WDW vets could make this into a bad thing! ;)

Things are different at DLR. You do not have to choose which parks on which days. You should really park hop every day. You can decide which park to start that morning at the last minute - with no penalty to your experience.

You do not have to build your park and dining schedules around show schedules.

You do not have to make dining reservations far in advance. A week is generally more than enough.

This is so much more relaxing and easy. ::yes::

What would you do with a schedule if you had it?

And, BTW, once DLR does post a schedule it is cool that it is much better at showing secondary entertainment - over a month in advance. At WDW you never know this until the Times Guide comes out and/or Steve Soares posts it - just a day or few days in advance of your trip. WDW advance schedules only show major entertainment like Fantasmic.

I think this is a huge advantage of DLR over WDW.

What is it that you need to plan that you are wanting the schedule for first? If it is for dining reservations, they are not as ginormous of an ordeal at DLR as they are at WDW.

If it's for what day you are going to go to which Park, that is not an issue at DLR. The Parks are a one minute walk apart so you can go to both in one day if you have PHs.

You really can plan without the schedule in a lot of ways. What specifically is it that you want to plan that requires the schedule?

I'm an out of towner, I'm even out of the country. I would love to know the schedule more than 6 weeks out. I need to make plans on which nights we'll eat where (in the park and out). I'd like to know opening and closing times, being there in December I'm not sure which nights the Cast Parties are on. I'd like to officially know which nights the shows are on without hoping it's the same as last year. I'm not making a huge issue out of it, but it would be helpful for me as I'm coming from Australia and really do need to plan. I'm also eager to get started on planning as it's all so exciting.

I'm a planner too, and it bothers me they don't have the park hours/schedule out very far in advance. I guess if you like to plan way ahead of time, you don't feel like you are "done" until everything is tied up. Now I think making dining reservations 180 days in advance at WDW is kind of crazy - that's even too far out for me!

This comes up a lot, especially from WDW regulars. I too am a planner and this can drive a person crazy. What I do is include calendar anticipation as part of my vacation excitement. It is that or lose my mind, I choose the first choice, too many other chances to hit that second (crazy) mark. From all I understand DL is much more of a 'vacation' while WDW is more of a 'trip'

I do feel your pain though.

Predictions are easy. Mon-Thurs, hours for DL will be 10am-8pm, DCA 11am-6 or 7pm. Fri-Sun, 9am-11pm for DL, 10am-8pm for DCA. Fireworks and Fantasmic! on Fri-Sun. POTC and IASW will be closed.
