Looking at some hotels and which is better Del Sol or Desert Inn? We have Park Vue booked, but I'm not so sure anymore and I really don't want to pay almost $900 for Candy Cane. FFI would be over $700, can't get it on last minute travel.

Desert Inn is the least expensive.

If I recall correctly, they are both owned by the same people. I have stayed at Desert Inn about 3 or 4 times and I have stayed at Del Sol once. Both are very similar. Del Sol is a bit smaller, being tucked back behind Denny's.

As far as comfort, they are both incredibly standard. I didn't find either location to be dirty though. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly too. The biggest challenge is of course parking. Parking is extremely limited. I haven't had a problem at Desert Inn, but when we stayed at Del Sol(albeit we arrived after midnight) we had to park at the Anaheim Plaza the first night because the Del Sol Parking was full. I was frustrated by that. We had to park at the Anaheim Plaza, tell the front desk the situation and ask for a parking permit from them, and then walk back to the Del Sol.

I would stay at either place again. The location is superb. Such an easy walk throughout the day.

Here is a picture from one of our Desert Inn rooms:

We booked the Del Sol for our visit in Nov. based on the reviews. My understanding, from all the posts and reviews I've read, is they're both close to the park, w/ basic cont. bfast and pay for parking. Our points on our CC, which we're using to cover our hotel, went farther at Del Sol. I'll post once we're home, how it was.

They're both so similar, I book based on whichever is cheaper. If they were both the same price, I may choose Desert Inn because they are a tad closer and they have trays to carry breakfast back to your room (if you want to do that at the Del Sol, bring the tray from under the ice bucket in your room).

My family has a suite booked at Desert Inn for our trip in October. I love that it has an indoor pool but sometimes indoor pools seem kind of yucky. Anybody have recent experience with theirs?

We stayed at Del Sol Inn last year. I enjoyed it. The year before we stayed at Ramada Maingate but needed more room last year with a newborn also. The room was fairly large and clean. We booked a room with a bunkbed for DS and our newborn to sleep on the bottom bunk since she didnt move around at the time. The room worked out great! Close to the crosswalk as well. Parking is tight and from reading reviews was prepared to park elsewhere and walk back BUT they also had valet. There was a parking fee but it did include valet as well. A couple nights after coming back late there was no self parking left, but we pulled up and someone came out and double parked our car for us. We never did get breakfast from there so I can't comment on that but I would book there again if the rate was cheap.

This year we have a room booked at Desert Inn because the rate was awesome! I asked on here how others desert inn experiences were and got some really good feedback and am excited to stay!!! Some comments I got was parking (same as Del Sol but no mention of valet service but also no problems with parking) and the pool (indoor, ver chlorinated, kind of murky) Other than that people have said the room is large if booked a suite, good service and would stay there again. I really look at people returning because that is a really good sign!!!

Here's the link to some of the feedback I got about Desert Inn if interested :) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2974397

I am also wondering about the Del sol. How would you compare the Del Sol to your stay at Ramada Maingate? We are currently booked at the Park Vue Inn but I have read some things lately that make me very uneasy about staying there(BlackJackDelta's post was just the final straw for me).

Right now I am thinking about the Del Sol and Ramada Inn Maingate. We tried LMT's website for the Fairfield but they are sold out. I called Faifield directly and their rate is much more than we are willing to pay.

They are both pretty basic. I enjoyed both actually. Can't really expect much being motels.

Ramada +
-Larger parking lot never had to worry about a parking stall (although we did -go in december during a slower time, not sure if that makes a difference)
-store in front (which we used alot to buy snacks),
-clean
-friendly service
-they had a place that had coffee, pizzas, some food (but i think that may be gone now... not sure)

Ramada -
-we had a slow check in, maybe because we checked in after 10pm...
-breakfast room, not that we were disappointed though because we knew it was very basic, eggs, some fruits, dry pastries, boxed cereal.
-water pressure during showertimes! between 7-9pm and 4-7am very low water pressure!!!

Del Sol Inn +
-larger room (booked one with a bunkbed)
-very clean
- friendly/helpful staff
-a hotel or 2 over from Ramada (little bit closer to the entrance but not by much
-in back of dennys
-valet was included in parking fee, which was helpful when their lot was full just had to pull up and hand over the keys.
-farther back from the street, didn't get car noise

Del Sol Inn -
-just my experience... they didnt have my reservation in the computer even though I had booked it right through their website, luckily they still had rooms available and was very apologetic the entire time while trying to set me up in a room with the rate that I had originally booked it for (had my printed confirmation and everything)
-parking can be tight, but again... they had a valet service which took care of that problem.
-noise (which i wouldn't put it as a complete negative) we expect noise! its disney!!! kids!!! you know the normal but if you want it to be a little more quiet ask for an upper room because the floor/ceilings are a little thin.

Overall they were both great, not expecting much cause again they are motels. I would book either again, whichever is a cheaper rate! Not sure if I would book Ramada again only for the fact that my family size has grown and now I look for suites instead of just standard or premium rooms or adjoining rooms.

I booked the desert inn, it was much cheaper. Now I have to decide between that or the Tropicana.
