I'm going to Disneyland Feb 5-7 and was wondering what hotel is better (Del sol or Desert inn). Has anyone stayed there and left their car after checkout and went to the park? If so what happen. We leave on the 7th but are going to be in the park untell 6pm.

Desert Inn will let you stay parked until 2pm. IF you ask them, they may let you stay parked longer but you have to be VERY SURE you have an understanding because the guy said, once the night guard gets there, he may get grumpy about it. I stayed parked until 5pm I think. I'm not sure about Del Sol I would like to know myself I go next Sept.

I have not stayed in the Desert Inn since 2000 but it has gotten decent reviews lately. I am staying there however in February. However not until after you unfortunately LOL. But I HAVE stayed at Del Sol and I can tell you that just by what I have heard and what I KNOW about Del Sol I would pick Desert Inn. I was NOT impressed by the Del Sol at all. The first room we had in Oct was VERY small and they kept taking our towels each day and not bringing us new ones. Then in Dec we did get a larger room but again the same thing with the towels. Then I had my cell phone charger plugged in to the wall and it somehow "vanished". They claimed they didn't know what happened to it but I KNOW they broke it or took it somehow. Now I am not accusing them of "stealing" it but I think they either accidently took it out of the plug to clean and didn't put it back or dropped it in their trash bag or whatever but needless to say they lost my charger and did NOTHING to make up for it including apologizing. I was VERY upset as that was the only one I had and it is an older phone. I felt the service there was lacking and I have been told that on checkout day they WILL not let you leave your car there. I didn't even try in Oct and we had to go PAY for parking in the garage in Oct and in Dec we didn't have a car.

To me this is ridiculous after you have paid for room to have to go pay for parking on your last day.

I hope this helps. I have seen pics of the Desert Inn and it looks like the rooms are much nicer and larger than the Del Sol. Good luck!

del sol inn no frills hotel just a place to sleep and close to the park.

I stayed there dec 8-12 I used getawaytoday.com for the reservations for 300 bucks 4 nights tax included.

Not a bad deal but yes I paid for parking the last day too.

is desert inn right next door

Most of the rooms have had their bedding and curtains replaced in Desert Inn. That's why some of the rooms look better. When I last talked to them in Dec. they said most of the rooms were done but couldn't promise me that the suites would all be completed by the time I go in March. I'm a regular there and the "friends" I have made at the front desk and their service is what keeps me going back.

I have often been tempted to stay at Del Sol for a little cheper price. Now, I know my old favorite is the best.

thank you all, desert inn and suites is 9 dollars more a night then del sol. if im going have to pay for parking on my last day at del sol then i think im going to stay at desert inn.

I hope you don't mind me stealing your thread for a moment but I have a similar question about these two hotels.

I currently have a room booked at the Desert Inn and Suites but I noticed that I can stay at the Del Sol Inn for nearly $60 cheaper. I basically just need a place to sleep and shower at, plus I'll take advantage of the free breakfast (I know they're not fancy but I don't need a big breakfast anyway). And I won't have a car with me so there won't be any parking issues.

Should I switch to the Del Sol Inn and save $60? Since they're right next door to each other, location isn't really an issue. And I'm not expecting luxurious rooms at either place so that's not a problem. Actually my main concern is my safety, since I will be staying there alone. Thanks for any advice you can give me! :thumbsup2
