1. Is it worth the extra money?

2. Was someone fussing over you the enite time?

3. How long does it take?

4. Is it $150 per person (Not sure of the cost)

Any other details would be great...thanks

Let's see...

1. For a special event, yes. We did it for our anniversary. I will say the food was exceptional. Each course was unique from the the other.

2. No, it was very good service, but no hovering. It was a two person serve for each course, with a pass-by followup. They knew how to serve it.

3. If I recall, it was about an hour to hour and half. Eat a little, sip a little wine, and so on and so on....

4. If memory serves me correct it was around $99 per person, and we both had to order it.

You would have to check, but I think everyone at the table had to order it. We enjoyed it. It sorta makes you feel like royalty (ha). There was a fish of some sort that I wish I could remember the name of. That fish, with the sauce, was one of those melt in your mouth things. It's one of those things that you should probably do at least once.

Hope it helps ....

Wow, it's Earl.

Glad to see you back.

Please ignore the flames that may happen. Ignore the flames and keep posting information that helps people plan trips to the parks.

Please give us hints on the new Mummy Coaster. I'm so excited. I know you can't give away all the details now, but keep talking to us.

And the inside photo sessions you allow for www.ioacentral.com rule. Please let them keep taking construction updates of the ride.

A online web camera may help, kinda like www.cedarpoint.com does.

But let www.ioacentral.com have the inside scoup.

Thanks.

online camera couldn't be done right now, kong buidling is gutted, Earl is it true that they're extending the kong building towards the grill?

This may seem a silly question, but what EXACTLY is degustation?? Details, please:confused:

I don't think it's silly at all - I have the same question! What on earth are ya'll talking about?

Don't feel bad. Some of the staff at Tchoup Chop don't know what it means either, as I discovered when I asked if they had one.:D

"Menu de desgustation" is French for "tasting menu." It's a series of courses, ranging anywhere from five to ten, designed to give you a sort of overview of what the kitchen in a particular restaurant is capable of producing. The portions are smaller than regular courses and, if it's done well, you don't feel uncomfortably bloated at the end of the meal.

I'm assuming (but don't know for sure) that this discussion is about the special menu at Tchoup Chop. If Emeril's in CityWalk also has one, I'm not aware of it.

I've done the Tchoup Chop one and it's very good indeed. And not that expensive, considering. Mine came to about $60-some dollars with one cocktail but no wine. The $150 price tag sounds more like Emeril's at CW.

I wrote a complete review of my meal, which is somewhere on this board. I believe there's also a link to the Tchoup Chop menu in that thread.

Thanks for the info Kelly. I read your review of your meal at Tchoup Chop. We are definitely going to have dinner there one night.

Kelly, thanks for the link. It looks like a very interesting retaurant. We're vegetarian so the tasting menu probably wouldn't work for us. Any idea if there are vegetarian offerings on the regular menu?

Thanks Kelly!

I've got to say - "Tasting Menu" sounds a WHOLE lot better then "degustation"! That sounds like what you do after you ate too much to me!:p

They do this at both Emeril's and Tchoup Choup. At Emeril's...it is outstanding...you have your waitstaff..and they take very good care of you. I mean excellent care...I was even escorted all the way to the restroom on one of our waiters arm. We had a blast.
We highly recommend this if you are eating at Emeril's.

At Tchoup Choup...this is currently only available at the counter. Eventually it will be available at the table like at Emeril's, but not yet. Haven't had a chance to try it...but, we are looking forward to it.
