Now, we all know Disney has some lovely buttons for those celebrating birthdays, honeymoons, engagements, and all sorts of fun things. My question is, do you think the Happy Anniversary buttons apply only to wedding anniversaries? My cousin is heading to the World in about 2 weeks, with her DBF and some of their friends for a "we graduated college" trip. While they are there, they'll be celebrating three years of dating. I've been helping them plan and suggesting fun & special things for them to do, and I was thinking about telling them to pick up some buttons. Do you think it would be inappropriate for her and her dbf to wear the buttons, considering that they are not celebrating a wedding anniversary?

Just looking for opinions, what would you do/advise her to do? :) TIA!!!

I'm interested in hearing what others think too. My husband and I are visiting WDW (without the kids for the first time :goodvibes) in July. We are going to celebrate our twenty year dating anniversary. We have been married for twelve years, but we still recognize the day that we first started dating. I feel a little strange telling people that we are celebrating an anniversary. Even though it is not our wedding anniversary, it is still the anniversary of something very special to us.

The buttons say "Happy Anniversary" so they could be used for any anniversary, not just weddings!

No offense to anyone who believes otherwise, but I truly believe they are meant as a special way to acknowledge wedding anniversaries.

We are going in Sept. Our Anniversary is in Feb. We are celebrating our Anniversary in Disney. It will be 37 1/2 years. I am not expecting anything from Disney. Yes we will wear the buttons for our special dinner at Narcoossee's. I am ordering a cake to surprise my husband. The kids are sending a gift basket to our room. They told us about it in Feb. It is fun and as long as you don't expect anything other than a congratulations from cast members it can do no harm.

Just a heads up that most likely many friendly people will ask them how long they've been married.

What will you celebrate seems to be the theme at WDW this year so why not celebrate 3 years dating or a 1/2 anniversary? Or anything that is important to you for that matter. Only you can determine what in life is worth celebrating. And if there is a button that fits the occasion... wear it!

We are going and celebrating my bfs actual birthday, but the trip is a gift for m y kids birthdays as well. One birthday in August and One (technically 2) birthday in October so thats how I chose September. The CM asked, I told him that story and he ordered buttons for the kids too. I didnt even think about the buttons,

So in a round a bout way, if you are celebrating something- anything- with a trip to Disney... shout it out!

im pretty sure they have buttons that just say "Im Celebrating" on them...alot of people wil ask how long they have been married...We celebrated our anniversary in march there and we got asked many times how long have u been married.

Well, last year we celebrated our 5 year dating anniversary, and this year we are celebrating our 6 year dating anniversary. Religious differences keep us from being "officially married", but we act like we are in every other sense. Even our families consider us married.

That being said, an anniversary can be anything. Adoption day, surviving cancer another year, or anything significant that has happened in your life. When anyone wishes you a "happy anniversary", you can explain, or just say thanks. We were often asked "how many years", and we'd happily answer "five." We didn't get anything special b/c of our buttons, not even an extra dessert (so we weren't "lying" to get "stuff", just sharing our celebration), but it was nice and exciting to hear the wishes.

IMO, I think it's okay to wear the "Anniversary" buttons or "Birthday" buttons if the date you are celebrating is during your vacation, dating or otherwise... but, I think the "I'm Celebrating" buttons are more suitable for people who are celebrating other occasions that do not fall on their trip dates

Although they do say "I'm Celebrating ____" with a space to write in what you're celebrating, so wouldn't it be silly to write "I'm Celebrating My Anniversary" rather than just wearing an anniversary button?

My husband's and my birthdays and our anniversary are all in a 1-month period at the busiest, hottest, and most expensive time of the year (late June through late July). This year we are not doing anything to celebrate any of those things, and instead going to Disney World in the fall. What does it matter if we wear the buttons or not? It's not like you get free stuff for celebrating an anniversary.

An anniversary is an anniversary whether its marriage or dating. I say go for it.

Also, as far as wearing the buttons on the exact day of your event, I disagree. I can see if you were like 11 months off or something but if it's only a couple of weeks go for it. I am going down January 8th to celebrate our annivesary (we were married Feb. 2nd) we plan on wearing the pins.

Am I the only one who read the title and immediately thought of "Define...Dancing" from Wall-E? :cool1:

The buttons say, "Happy Anniversary," which could mean any "anniversary." It doesn't have to be a wedding anniversary. I would certainly wear them! This years theme is all about celebrating.

When I went in November, they gave me a Happy Birthday button and my birthday wasn't until December. I wore it and every CM said happy birthday to me and I said thank you. I thought it was cute. So, no matter when the actual date of the anniversary is, I say wear the button anyways if they give it to you. When we booked our trip, they asked my boyfriend what we would be celebrating and he said youth lol.
