Defective light saber

Light saber has a section not lighting up 3 days after purchase. It was literally sitting in the box, so it wasn’t being abused. I live overseas so I emailed merchandising a week ago but they’ve not responded. Thoughts?

There are also many lightsaber threads and possibly someone has experienced a similar problem who might be able to help. Hope you can get it fixed as that would be extremely disappointing to have it stop working so quickly!!

Probably needs batteries. They drain quickly if the saber is being used.

The batteries die fast, just changed ours out because my daughter wanted to make a video. I’d try taking the lightsaber apart then reassembling to see if that works. Try removing and putting back the blade first (push in and turn right and pull out). There’s a bunch of videos for taking the saber apart but it’s fairly simple if the blade trick doesn’t work.
