I'm not crazy about the character but she does get your attention.

But in a negative way.

She's not any different than the Streetmosphere actors at DHS or any other park.
We bought in 98 before she was around so she did'nt make a difference in our decision to buy in then or now.
Best of all she didn't affect our most recent add on at BLT.
We knew she probably would'nt be staying with us in our villa while on vacation.

Was introduced to Deevy Cee at our one and only Welcome Home Wednesday. I didn't enjoy her at all and when I saw the e-mail today from DVC with her name attached, I deleted it without opening it, even though it was about GCV.

Deevy is an insult to my intelligence. I am not humorless and I love the fantasy and even silliness of Disney characters, but this character is stupid. The fact that she is a WOMAN makes me all the more offended. Too bad that DVC marketing is so out-of-touch and clueless. Why would anyone want to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a property promoted by this drivel?

This just about sums it up for me - I couldn't believe they sent out 2 of these stupid videos in about as many weeks.

dont make sense.... they keep taking away our perks, but they keep coming out with new lame videos of deevy. I am sort of embarrassed when we go to welcome home wednesdays and she is there. Especially when she says she's from wisconsin. I do not raise my hand when she asks if anyone is from wisconsin!! LOL

The DVD Marketing Department is who puts on the Member Cruise, Welcome Home Wednesdays, Merry Member Mixer, and Deevy. They also take advantage of sending us emails and notices from our Guides.

If it wasn't for the Marketing folks, we would rarely be contacted.

Who to you think cares more about the members, marketing or the club?

I feel they should spend some $ and have Samantha Brown do videos when she's on-site doing videos for the Travel Channel. ie: Samantha Brown's favorites or Holidays at Disney.
Deevy can be put on the streets of DHS, that's where her performances are best suited.

I take issue with these statements. I find them an insult to fine performers that make up the Citizens of Hollywood.

Deevy See is not in the same league as them.

The Citizens of Hollywood are very entertaining, while Deevy See isn't.

I don't blame the actor either, she is just working off the direction of someone that seems to keep pushing for "more annoying".

I say lighten up Maybe I have a wonderfully warped sense of humor, and I see some of the fun intended by her performance, but it's not her I'm watching, it's the stuff she has to show me.. I just mute the computer and watch the background And YES I have shown it to my friends for a good laugh. In no way do I "relate" to Deevy as ME. And I will say one thing for the DVD marketers, everyone here certainly knows who Deevy is and remembers her, don't they? Even if she is the most annoying woman on the web...

We love her! I really don't read anything into her character other than that we are all in on the joke that she is delusional in her belief that she is the first lady of DVC. If you ever get the chance to interact with her like we have and to receive a hug or a compliment from her like we have, I think the detractors would feel differently. Samantha Brown is fine but she is not a Disney original. Besides she is a journalist not a pitchperson. When I watch Deevee I feel entertained and informed and appreciate that she was invented just for us. What DVD chooses to do with its marketing budget is its business and its money. But I am happy that they choose to tone done the hard sales pitch by injecting a little humor.

DeeVee..highly annoying, with a couple kind of cute parts. What gets me is they don't really show much besides her in the webcasts..no real info. They could tone down the character and have her actually portray someone in love with the product and highlight what she is marketing much better.

I used the term actor on purpose. I find it unnecessary and a bit silly to use different terms like actor/actress.

Don't get me started on the term, "comedienne"! Ugh!
Just a pet peeve of mine.

Again, I don't really blame her, but I blame the person(s) in charge.

Cheap, tacky, classless and annoying. I thought it was really strange that they introduced that character to sell what was supposed to be DVC's most upscale resort to date, BLT. She's like something you'd see on late-night TV advertising some really cheesy, low-rent resort.

When we didn't see Deevy again after the BLT introduction, I figured they'd realized their mistake and mothballed the character. But no.....with the vast stable of characters they have to choose a "DVC ambassador" from, why on earth would they create something that awful?

Totally agree. I consider her emails SPAM.

Deevy is enough to want you to sell DVC back to Disney. With all the talent that the Company has, you'd think they could come up with something with a little class, animated or real, i don't care.
Then again, after dealing with Deevy maybe Disney should just drop the whole idea completly and not risk creating something worse.
