Deevy See

Deevy See.. What do you think of her?

  • Hate the site of her, DVC, please get rid of this ridiculous person!

  • I don't like her, but I can live with the foolishness. Grin and bear it.

  • Love her, she makes me smile, and want to buy more points.

  • Who's Deevy See??

I see her in the same vein as Lucille Ball who I found demeaning to women. Is there a reason there isn't a male character who partners with her?

Her humor isn't funny in the least. And she does not represent DVC, just like that new logo doesn't represent DVC.

It's like they're "dumbing-down" to the members. I hope imagineering can come up with something a bit more intelligent and witty soon.

I despise her. She is horrific. Please get rid of her. She is embarrassing.

+1 With the creative braintrust available at the Walt Disney Company this is the best they could do????:sad2:

Considering DVC is debuting a new logo, I don't think it is too much to ask for them to retire this woman. I am embarrassed to be associated with DVC when I see her or see anything where she is mentioned/featured, and as others said, I can't help but think that this is what "management" views as their typical member ----- or at least someone that their typical member would find amusing. That lone is enough to question management.

I laugh my dairy air off! HAHAHA :lmao:

I am a fan of cheap, pun humor - so I can't help but laugh out loud at Deevy's cheesy jokes!

Obviously....instead of using the correct french word derriere, you chose to laugh like the stinky smell of milk cows!

I don't like her. As others have said, her persona does not represent a quality product.

I think she is tacky and degrading. I am embaressed to be a DVC member when I see her.

I also did the Welcome Home Wednesday with Deevy See several years ago (yes, she has been around that long). She took points from me and gave them to the two losers who didn't know anything about DVC so that all three of us wound up equal.

HAHA DOH! You let the secret out of the bag!!!!!! They do that every time there is a different!!! :lmao:

It was SO much fun - and you can REALLY rack up the points if you compliment Deevy, and tell her how wonderful she is, and act humbled to be in her presence! HAHA I had so much fun on the game show - I had to get my photos taken with her after the game!!!!

I voted with the first option because it was the closest to my view of the character (role). But "hate" is probably too strong.

I have watched her on video and live. If her role was a limited use of a caricature to have some fun introducing BLT, it would have been okay. But building a marketing campaign around that role is irritating. I expect better from Disney.

I think she's awful. She's so awful that I'd be horrified to show friends DVC products (like this month's disney files) that include her.

GET RID OF HER!

When I got the call from DVC about watching the Hawaii show, I told them again how great it was that we didn't have to be exposed to her during the webcast.

You are right! THERE SHOULD be a male Character!!!! OH MY GOSH! Would that ever be funny!

He would have to be just as nutty and wacky as she is - or the 'YES DEAR' type!

you are absolutely correct!!! Can you imagine how hysterical that would be? :lmao:

Oh my, that would be SOOOOO funny!

I met her once, though she was dressed as a different character on Main St. I approached her and told her I knew she was DVC. She denied and said she was nothing like DVC, that DVC was obnoxious and she knew another lady at HS who was just as obnoxious. Cracked me up because she had to be in character, was in denial, but all the while knew she wasnt fooling me. She is really a nice lady.
I like her DV character, its silly, dont take it so serious. Her humor may not be for all, but I find her amusing.

I watched the live broadcast of the opening of Star Wars weekend - she was not Deevy - but a roaming reporter! I find her quite humorous.

I think she's great.

I think she also exposes some built in "snobbery" amoung DVC owners. The "fear" that she reflects them?? LOL! Seriously, are you that insecure about your DVC purchase that you the advertising needs to impress people with how "classy" you are for buying?

I like her. Life's to short to be so serious!

But then... The summer issue of Disney Files comes out and FOUR pages with this terrible idea...

i don't hate, hate her.

but i did think it was a huge waste of space in the magazine.

give me a little more substance or don't waste the money to produce that kind of crap. put the silly stuff like that on the internet somewhere but don't put it in the magazine...reserve that space for info about the DVC resorts: refurbs, restaurants, activities that are available...anything but complete fluff...

I finally opened my magazine and read the articles about her this morning. The part about trying to steal the lamp from the resort was too much. Very tacky :sad2: Is this what DVC thinks of it's members????

I just really don't get her or what her purpose is. I don't hate her, I just don't find her funny and I think the character is not a good match for the product. I'd probably enjoy her as a street character at DHS.

Because that's exactly who she is! She is mildly annoying, but intentionally mildly annoying. If you enjoy her and the other Streetmospheres performers, you'll probably enjoy her -- if not, then not. I'll definitely agree that the skills emphasized by the Streetmospheres troupe (exaggerated pantomime and facial expressions) don't translate well to either video or other media, and the powers at be at Disney should probably have some discussion about this with "Deevy."

On the more interesting poll question "Are some people taking this way too seriously?," definitely count me for a "YES." Comments like "This is what JL thinks of his customers" and "I'm embarassed to be associated" with a marketing character -- really? If you're that insecure, you might not want to "advertise" it. (Double meaning fully intended.);)

I can find humor in many things, and I certainly am not insecure, I just find her annoying and agree I don't hate her.

I think some of you are taking the dislike of her too seriously ;)

I watched the live broadcast of the opening of Star Wars weekend - she was not Deevy - but a roaming reporter! I find her quite humorous.

My son noticed her during last Star Wars weekend. She tried to stay in character, but said thank you when my son said he loved her DVC videos.

A bit of comic relief is a good thing, IMO. The perception of DVCers by non-DVCers can tends to be a tad arrogant, so it's a nice change of pace.
