Deevey See's Announcement

Thanks JerJan.....I'm playing around with the points now. To me, if I buy the AKV, I'm interested in savanna view. If we buy BLT, it's going to be the MK view that is the big draw. It's a decent amount of difference in points when you compare these two views. Of course, BLT has proximity to MK as an added "plus".
A one bedroom at each of these resorts with the specified views is a difference of 42 points for a 3 night weeknight summer stay (which is when we usually travel).

Wow, what a LAME way to announce it! I guess anything would have been anticlimactic, but seriously, could Deevy See be any more annoying??? lol;)

I'm totally with you! I thought the video was awful. The imagineer guy is a terrible actor, and Deevy See is just ridiculous. They should have used that cute girl from the DVD.
I am also underwhelmed by the decor in the rooms - minimalist modernism does not scream Disney theming to me! Obviously, BLT has great views and great location going for it, but that's about it.

Another vote for not loving the decor (based one what we saw). Remember they can still make a lot of changes between now and then. AKV switched out a lot of things from the models to the actual rooms.

VERY annoying. She wouldn't induce me to buy, that's for sure. Neither would the decor.

I have met "Deevey" in person over at the Beach Club a few years ago. She is a true Disney original and has incredible wit when improving with guests.

I agree the production was weak but she is a jewel, imo.

I loved the look of the bed. Did anyone catch the hidden Mickeys on the blanket at the bottom of it!;)

I've been to two Welcome Home Wednesdays and find myself a bit bothered by Ms. Deevy See.........it was a bit rough to watch this video!!! ;)

Yes...I agree. She's not funny, just kind of "CREEPY".....

When they were showing the dream sequence, I thought the room decor was a joke--sorta like "stuck in the 70s" decor and part of DeeVee's personality. The yellow just throws me for a loop. I am hoping because I was watching a grainy YouTube video, it will be much nice in person.

Either way, it's a pretty cool place but we can't afford to add on there and will continue to look for a BCV resale.

I agree. I enjoy Deevey and get a kick out of visiting with her at the welcome home wednesday. We just saw her twice last month. She's fun.

is anyone else not too "wow'd" by the decor ? Maybe it's not represented fairly, but I think I was hoping for a bit more ? For me, location is the only draw factor here. Maybe it looks better in person ?
Yes, I thought it looked like 1950's modern. Really blah and non-unique, but I suppose it's the theme.

After watching the video, my reaction is:

It's good that they've gotten their local high school involved in video production. I think it says something good about Disney's marketing department that they would reach out and give a leg up to the next generation.

I will take your word about the video because after a minute of Deevy See I turned it off. She needs to go, now. If she's a "jewel" she's a cubic zirconia.

Hey Maria,
I wasn't wow'd either but I'm not a good judge because I never like the Contemporary also I'm hoping this is not the marketing video that they will use to sell the thing. I thought it was more of an "announcement" type of thing since it definitely wasn't shot that well.

I hear ya eliza.....if the decor was more to my taste--a little more plush maybe---they might have hooked me. We are "thinking" on a BLT add-on, but still torn between AKV and VWL. DH is definitely leaning towards AKV. We stayed there last month and he really liked it.
I am hoping we all get some sort of nice announcement for BLT in the mail like with the AKV. A little more classy, ya know ? ;) :) But alas, we need to make our decision by Saturday because of the add-on incentive.

Man, I spent the whole day at work, working! :lmao: As soon as I got home I checked my email, watched this and then headed here--had I checked in at all during the day I would not have been as surprised. Didn't mind it --reminds me of a skit my kids and I do with each other as "Deloris" she is totally the way we act! I enjoyed the sneek peek at the rooms, now I'm just curious about $$!

Hmmmm, I think the decor is very similar to that of the Contemporary after the latest remodel. I think it just was not very well lighted for the video recording. The rooms at the Contemporary are really quite lovely...IMHO the nicest @ WDW

The video was horrible. I was actually impressed by the quality of the email, and I expected a lot more out of the video. It did the OPPOSITE of its intended goal. Rather than inspire me to add on and buy BLT, I actually found myself being grateful that I didn't wait for it.

The video aside, my biggest problem with BLT is that it appears as though Disney felt that it didn't have to theme it. They are just letting its location speak for itself. To me, it is a metallic horseshoe. Is it really a "tower"?
