We will be going to HH for Pesident's weekend and my DH and DS want to go fishing. We have never had even a nibble off the dock! I was looking for a "party" boat, as a charter is a bit out of our price range.
Has anyone done this? I found one place (Capt. Hook) but they have not returned my call, and I wonder if they are closed for the winter.
We would consider a charter if they would add DH and DS to others already going, but $400-600 is too much.
Thanks for any help:wave:

There are several deep sea fishing boats like you describe. When you get to HH there should be a guide book of all the businesses and restaurants on the island and all of the fishing boats advertise there. I've used one that leaves from the South Beach area, near the Salty Dog restaurant. Sorry, don't remember the name. The cost was reasonable (around $50 I think). They only need about a days notice so you can make arrangements after you get there.

There are also a few of these boats that dock right at Shelter Cove marina. You can walk over and talk to some of them when you get there. We will be there at the same time as you and will probably be doing the same thing. We were going to go last year, but didn't have enough time. We will bethere for 2 extra days this year. Just be aware that the boats don't go out as often during the winter and from what some of the fishermen have told me, the fishing is not usually as plentiful. I don't think my son or nephews will care, they still want to do it. It should be fun!

Thanks to all for your help.
Sparkysfriend, how old are your newphews/son? My son also will not care if the fishing isn't great. He is happy to to "wet a hook"!
Have you booked a fishing trip already? Or are you waiting until you get there?

There are quite a few choices under the "nautical" link. I have not tried fishing but I remember a reasonably priced charter service in the marina right near the resort that did half day trips. Not sure if they are open during the winter months. Good luck.
