How does a dedicated 2br work? Are they also available for 1br? What the advantages to getting a dedicated room?

I am still very new to dvc, so this is something that I have no idea about. Also, it sounds like this is "guarantee" if granted at the time of registration vs. a "request".

A dedicated two bedroom has only one entrance, therefore can be nice if you have small children and don't want them wondering out into the hallway when you are not looking.

My kids are a little older and I actually like the one bedroom connected to a studio. It makes the kids feel like they have their own apartment with a small refrigerator and microwave.

The dedicated usually comes with two queen beds in the second bedroom instead of one queen bed and a pull out. That is another plus. Some of the dedicated rooms though do have a pull out in the second bedroom.

There is no such thing as a dedicated one bedroom. All one bedrooms have a king size bed in the bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room.

Your reservation will say which one you have on it and if it isn't guaranteed, it will be noted as such.

so with a 2bdr lockoff there is a 1 queen bedroom and a pullout or 2 queen beds?

What does the other room have???

O.K. You can make a reservation for a 2 bedroom dedicated, this is not a request. The bedding in a 2 bedroom dedicated is a king in the master bedroom, double pull-out in LR, and 2 queens in the 2nd BR (At BCV it might be a queen bed and queen pullout). There also is only one door to the hallway. In a 2 bedroom lock-off the bedding is a king in the master bedroom, double pull-out in LR and a queen bed and a double pull-out in the 2nd BR(at OKW there are two queens). The 2 bedroom lock-off is essentially a one bedroom and a studio linked together. There are one bedroom dedicated at the resorts, but the bedding is no different than the one bedroom lock-offs. The only difference is in the one bedroom dedicateds, there isn't a connecting door to an adjacent studio. A one bedroom dedicated can't be specifically reserved, but it can be requested.

Wow, Thanks jel0511... You answer could not have been more descriptive. I know exactly what you are talking about. I had a very good idea after reading the post by the HB Cat, but your post left no stone unturned.

Thanks to both of you.

The only stone left unturned: At BWV all two bedrooms are lockoffs.

Sorry to sound clueless, we have only stayed in a lockoff unit. Does this mean the dedicates don't have the small refrigerator. Believe it or not, we actually used it a lot.

Thanks
Sandy

Dedicated 2 bedroom units do not have a refridgerator or microwave in the 2nd bedroom.

I stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom and it worked out great for a friend and myself in the 2nd bedroom at OKW. There is a second bathroom sink counter where the kitchenette would be and a second closet where the door would be. So we each had our own bathroom sink and our own closet.
