dedicated vs lockout

A two bedrrom dedicated unit is a single unit. The lock-offs are a one bedroom unit attached to a studio. The dedicated does not have the studio's kitchenette or second entrance.

At some resorts, the dedicated 2Bs have two queen beds in the second bedroom while the lockoffs have one queen and a sofabed.

Lockoffs also tend to have more storage space in the area of the 2nd bedroom that is normally reserved for the kitchenette and the room entrance (door) on the comparable lockoff.

All 2 bedrooms at OKW have 2 queen beds, so that makes no difference there on dedicated or lock-off. The only difference at OKW is the lack of a second entrance to the outside and the lack of a small balcony off the second bedroom in the dedicateds. Of course, they also get a whole big extra walk-in closet where the entrance would have been.

BCV has two kinds of dedicateds. Some have 2 queen beds, and some have a queen plus sleepersofa.

I think tjkraz meant that dedicated 2BR villas tend to have more storage space where the kitchenette and exterior door would be found in a lock-off unit.

At OKW, VB, HH, VWL and SSR all dedicated 2BR villas will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. At BCV, some dedicated 2BR's have the sleep sofa, but many have 2 queen beds. At BWV, there are no dedicated 2BR's- all are lock offs with a queen bed and sleep sofa.

Lock-off 2BR's all have a private exterior entrance to the second BR as well as a connecting door to the living room of the adjoining 1BR lock-off. Lock offs will also have a balcony/patio for the second BR- the dedicated 2BR villas do not.

Enjoy!

Yep. You got me.

Thanks, Doc!

Dedicated rooms are better for families with small children because they don't have the separate entrance door for the little ones to get out through. A lock-off is nice for adults becasue it feels like a separate unit, if you leave the connecting door closed.
