Dedicated 2BR Availability

I have a reservation for a 2BR at my home resort for December 17th-23rd. Acknowledging that December is a tough time to get at 7 months out, are traditional booking trends still holding true (e.g., dedicated 2BRs last to go)? What are the odds that Beach Club would have a dedicated 2BR available at 7 months out to switch to?

I understand that lock-offs would likely be non-existent at that point, but I think BC has 70-80 dedicated 2BR villas. Since those would only be booked by owners who actually need a 2BR (not just a studio or a 1BR that would knock the lock-offs out of contention), do they remain available longer than the rest of the room types?

BC 2BR isn't that hard at 7 month, generally speaking. But Christmas is peak, and there are a lot of points floating around.

This is tough, because it might be too risky to walk.

I'd split your home reservation into 2-3 night segments and try to change one segment out for BC.

We'll have to see how it goes. It's not the end of the world if there's no availability and we end up sticking with our home resort (AKV, which we all love). I just thought extended family might like to stay at a different resort this time. My wife and I have tried out about half of the DVC resorts, but the rest of the family have only been to AKV when we've gotten 2BRs. I doubt they would prefer a split-stay though, so I'll probably just take my chances and see if there's any availability at 7 months.
