Do you have to ask for a dedicated 2 bedroom in order to get one? When I saw the map of VWL, there seems to be so many, it didn't dawn on me to ask for 1, but maybe I should have. Should I call to put the request in?

About the make-up of them, what is in the second bedroom? I remember seeing 2 beds, but don't remember anything else. What size are the beds, both queens?

It would be 2 Queens in the "second bedroom" portion of the dedicated 2BR - you should call and make it a request

Over at BCV where there are limited dedicated 2BR, you can be told when making the ressie whether you have a dedicated or not

Thank you.

Now, could I do this in an e-mail to MS? I know they are very busy, and if an e-mail could do the trick, I would do that. It's not MY time that I'm concerned about, but wear and tear on the system!

I called to make our Dec 06 ressie this morning and we need 2, 2 bedrooms. I asked about the dedicated and she told me they place those first and then the others so she automatically put that as my request. Don't know if that is the norm or not.

I don't know if this is true, but MS told me that dedicated 2 bedroom @ VWL was a room type and not a "request". At least I understood that if you ask for dedicated that's definitely what you'll get. I know we did last time. I really don't want a lock off as I prefer only one door since the kids are so little and DS1 is an escape artist!

I've always understood that the dedicated rooms were not a request, but a room type. If I were you, I would make the phone call to make sure it's on your reservation. Last time I had a lockoff it was listed on the reservation.

The only thing noted on my reservation besides Non-smoking is "High Chair Requested." I didn't realize that the villas didn't "come" with high chairs, but they do come with pack and plays.

I have to really consider the dedicated vs lock-off thing some more. We plan to give our family the "main" part, the master bedroom and living room space as needed for sleeping. I imagine that the dedicated does not have a coffee pot in the second bedroom, and DH and I would perhaps like to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning without worrying about waking someone up. Yet, we don't want someone "escaping" from our door. I will make my decision soon.

Bobbi, we always get a lock off with my parents so they can have their breakfast in the studio without disturbing my kids on the sofa. They kinda like having their own space. I guess it just depends on the dynamics of your group.

The lock-off configuration is how I had described it to our family, and it did feel right. I mentioned to DDiL that we would keep the studio door opened, and they could decide if they wanted to keep the living room opened as well. She made me laugh when she said, "Good, I'll send the kids over and shut the door!" Now that made my heart go wild, we live so far away, and any time with the kids is precious.

Is it AUGUST yet??

Please bear with me as I'm new at all this..... we have a 2 bedroom booked for October so what's the difference between a 'dedicated' 2 bdrm and the 'other' 2 bedroom? do they both have the 2 beds in 1 room and 1 bed in the other room as that's what we need.

And is it the same at VWL and SSR? Wondering if I need to call and add this to my ressie.

We were also looking to get a dedicated 2bdrm, but my inlaws wanted the second room with 2 beds not a bed and a sofa. Is this request possible or do they all come the same way?

I'm pretty sure that all of the dedicated 2 bedrooms at the VWL have the 2 Q bed configurations. So, when you book it, just ask for the dedicated. It's the lock offs that have the Q bed and sofa bed.

When we were there in December, we visited the next Disfamily who were getting the Christmas tree, am drawing a blank right now, but the 2 bedroom dedicated was very nice, it was thinking about that room that got me to start this thread.
