Do all dedicated 2 bedrooms have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom? Also, is the patio/balcony just off the living room or also off the 2 bedrooms?

I am getting ready to request a 2 bedroom at SSR and alsoat BCV and am trying to understand the lay out of the 2 bedroom villa's. Are the dedicated better than the lock off or does it really matter, as we only require one entrance in?

Thanks

I want to comment on BCV because that's the only DVC resort that has some dedicated 2 bedrooms with a Q and a pull out sofa bed in some of the second bedrooms. If you want one with 2 Q's that's a room type, not just a request. You will know when you book what type you are getting.

PS. I don't remember about the balconies at BCV.

dedicated we stayed in at SSR had 2 queens in the second bedroom and the balcony was off the living room

And we had an oddball room at BCV (2 BR dedicated) where the balconies were off the master & the living room, not the 2nd BR - because it was located on a bend of the building. This room did not have 2 Qs in the 2nd BR (room 334). I think I read there are 25 2 BRs at BCV with the 2Qs.

I liked how the dedicated 2 BR we had didn't have the kitchenette in the 2nd BR, so it had a lot more open space.

Dedicated 2 bedrooms don't have a kitchenette. A lock off does as it's a one bedroom and a studio with 2 entrances.

I think it's personal preference and group makeup as to dedicated vs l/O. As mentioned above, you actually book one or the other, it's not a request. For older teens or multiple families, the lockoff with extra kitchenette and separate entrance could be helpful. For smaller children, you may not want them having a separate entrance.

As for bed setup, for WDW. I believe all dedicated 2 BR have 2 queens except for 2 exceptions. BWV does not have dedicated 2 BR and BCV, 1/3 have 2 beds and 2/3 has a pull out queen due to a design and construction mix up.

About your balcony question -- we're just back from BCV (a dedicated 2 bedroom Q+sofa bed). One of my requests was to have a big balcony near the elevator/atrium. The balcony we got was huge -- it ran the length of the 3 rooms and was accessible from each room. Last year we didn't have as long a balcony - I think it was only accessible from the living room. If you're interested in that type - long balcony & queen + sleeper sofa, ours was room 223 and here's the view:

We just loved it - very quiet. I will definitely ask for 223 again - just hope we get it!! :goodvibes
