We are a family of two adults and three teens, each of whom need their own bed. Two of the teens are very big guys, and my third teen has a mild disability (can walk but tires easily..we get a wheelchair at the park).

Right now we have a choice of a dedicated two bedroom at VWL (which had the two queens in the second bedroom) or a two bedroom lockoff at BCV (which has the queen and sofa bed in second bedroom.

Despite the age of the kids, we are all still Magic Kingdom fans and spend the most time there, although I personally enjoy Epcot a lot.

We've only stayed at BWV before (which we all loved except for the long walk to the room!) but the kids were much younger and the sofa bed thing was less of an issue. I guess I'm wondering how comfortable the sofa beds would be for a very big person.

Also wondering about BCV versus VWL. I like Boardwalk because of the stuff to do on the Boardwalk, but with BCV it isn't right there. Never been to VWL.

Pools not relevant as we tend not to swim, having an easy place to eat in/near resort is though.

Which would you choose if you were in my situation?

I would do the Dedicated 2 br at the VWL besides it being our favorite resort I think the 2 Q would be better suited for the older boys and much more comfortable than the pull out. VWL has a great cafe to pick up food and snacks and everything is much closer together.

I believe the sleeper sofas at VWL are the older 'bar in the back' style and BCV has the newer 'pillows hiding in the sofa' style. I would assume that the sleepers at BCV would be more comfortable then VWL.

So you have...

VWL - Q,Q, less comfortable Q sleeper
or
BCV - Q, more comfortable Q sleeper, more comfortable Full sleeper

As far as which resort? They are both great, you can't go wrong with either. WE own at BCV but stay at VWL for a few days and fell in love with the resort. However the food options are not as readily available as BCV. You really have so many restaurants so close.

I believe that I read in the annual report that the Sofa Beds at VWL are being replaced with new ones, I don't remember exactly when this is happening, maybe someone else can shed some light on this.

I have read about a referb at VWL. I wasn't sure if that included sofas. I had hoped it would but haven't specifically read that.

I own at both VWL and BWV. I love the ease of getting to MK from VWL- you will, too! If you spend most of your time there, I'd try VWL. Access to easy places to eat includes not only what is available at VWL but also anything that is just a boat ride/monorail ride away. We sometimes take a break from MK when we aren't staying at VWL just to go there by boat to eat at Whispering Canyon. It is such a relaxing lodge that it is a great break in the middle of the day.

I love BWV, too. But mostly for the ease of walking to Epcot. If you love the nightlife on the boardwalk, there is nothing like that at VWL. It is peaceful at the lodge at night. Still, you have access to MK, etc. with the boats/monorail connections.
