Hi!
So, after looking at the disney prices for decorations/table settings and then looking at the prices from where I live I was shocked. For example, the large "Beauty and the Beast" centerpiece at disney is like $500 or something per table, where as the same thing here is $20, plus $100 for the flowers. Also, the upgranded linens and chair covers here are less than half the price.
I called Kristi, my WC and asked her if I would be allowed to bring those in and she said no. Apparently it is a security/backstage issue and only disney decorations can be used.
Now, I have read on here that many women, have or are creating their own centerpieces etc. So, if this is the case than why is would it be any different for me?
Sorry for being so long and thanks for your help. Maggie

I think that you can't have a outside vendor in the parks. Your EM might have thought that you wanted the florist to come in and set it up. The other brides make them and give them to the EM to set up. I am guessing that is the confusion.

Are you having a theme park wedding/reception? that is differnet rules then the resorts. Maybe that is the issue. As far as centerpieces I have heard of alot of brides bringing their own. Just being charged a set up fee.

If you are having an in-park wedding you can not bring anything in or have another vendor do it. You must use Disney. If you are at a resort than the rules are different.

So that was the bad news...the good news is that very few centerpieces Disney makes for wedding actually cost as much as the wish book. We are having fairly elaborate centerpieces and they are way less than the wish book ones. The wish book is Disney floral having alot of fun!

if budget is an issue then when you have your planning session you can tell the floral people look this is what i like but I can only spend x amount...what can we come up with. My floral planner (Rose) has been amazing and great at coming up with stuff within our budget.

In terms of the chair covers and what not i know they are super expensive but agin if it is in park you need to use Disney:confused3 we just bit the bullet and are paying for the chivari's!

Ahh, yes we are having it in Epcot. Okay, well hearing that the wishbook is not my only option makes me feel a lot better! And, if I have to pay I will because it is our wedding of course--it just makes me light headed to think of the price differences.

Thanks for your help.

We originally had our reception planned outside at the FI. I only wanted small centerpieces with lots of votive candles. It was going to be very inexpensive. Then all the plans changed and we're in one of the ballrooms at GF. I wanted something taller, but everythign they had was so expensive compared to our previous centerpieces. I spoke with the florist several times trying to explain what I want. We finally decided to just use the candelabras with bobeches and castle confetti on the tables. We were going to have votive candles there too, but they were really expensive. I found some that look nicer than disney's, for a tiny fraction of the price (dollar spot at target, 4 for a dollar). They said I could bring them to the ballroom (not for the parks) and disney would put them out and light them for $25. To me, I'd rather pay DIsney $25 to set up my cheap ones, than try to find a family member to do it. And we're saving a lot of money by doing this.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you change locations? I am booked for FI, but my second choice was White Hall/Patio at GF. After the little rules for the parks I am thinking of reconsidering.
