decorating vinyl placemats?

I picked up some months ago on clearance and decided when I was pulling stuff out for a garage sale that we should decorate them somehow and take to the house we are renting when we go to WDW.

Anyone have any ideas? Can you use iron-on transfers, do you think? I could get stickers, but they will be pretty small and I would love to personalize them somehow for each of us.

So, has anyone ever used transfers on anything other than shirts? Amy? How about your transfers? I just got 20 from you and they are THE BOMB on shirts! I just washed one and it looks EXACTLY like it did before I washed it! I'll be ordering more. Have you ever used them on anything else like placemats???

Nevermind, I just tried it out and it worked pretty well! You have to be careful not to let it get too hot and it did "pucker" slightly, but I think it came out cute and I'll be making a set of these!

Sorry I did not see this earlier, although I would have had no idea. If you feel comfortable doing it - I would love to see pictures of how they turned out. I would have thought that the iron would have melted the vinyl. I am glad they turned out for you!

I took pics!

They are a thick vinyl but I was really careful and didn't do it for too long. The first one (blue one) puckered up a bit b/c I did it too long, but the green one came out pretty good! I'm very excited about making one of these for each of us!
