Would a dresser look OK in a living room? It's the only piece I can buy to match an entertainment center. Thanks!

A small dresser would probably look fine. Designers don't tend to be doing too much matching of funiture these days though, so you could probably buy something that you really love that doesn't match.

I think it would depend on the style of dresser. I have a smallish one in my dining room that works quite well as a small buffet/sideboard. It has 2 full width drawers and 2 half width plus is raised on legs about 16 inches tall so I don't think it is obviously a dresser.

Of course, with the popularity of armoire style cabinets used as entertainment centers and other main room uses, using a dresser in a new way doesn't seem all that odd.

There's a lot you can do with that idea. I think it could work out just fine!

I'm thinking of a type of dresser for my dining room. :)

I think it would look fine also; however, like a previous poster said, your furniture does not have to match.

I think it would be fine.
We have a dresser in our living room because it just looks good there--it holds our photo albums and board games and such. Plus, it looks good with our Secretary--also in the living room.

Do you have pictures hanging over the dresser - what do you have on top of the dresser?
