Can you decorate the hallway doors at Poly? I'd like to hang something on it for our Christmas trip. If so how would you hang something like stockings or a wreath? Thanks guys!

Be careful how you hang stuff, if the stuff you use leaves a residue or by chance pulls any paint off when removed they can charge you. Personally, I dont mind if people decorate inside their room (not counting the windows) so THEY can enjoy it while they are in their room. But I personally, and again, this is me, dont like to have the theme of the resort 'broken' by stuff hanging on windows and doors. I know some people decorate them so the door is 'easier to find', but I still just think a lot of times it's more a 'We're here and we want to make sure everyone knows we're here'. I guess I'll admit if it was just one small wreath it wouldnt bug me much, but just think about others that have to look at it also. Trust me I'm not scrooge, I love houses that are totally decked out, but at WDW my mind seems to change.

Not saying it's never been done, but I've never seen a decorated door at the Poly. Personally, I would not.

Our only door decoration at the Poly has been a wreath complete with a small stuffed Lilo and Stitch. This is usually the exent of door decorating (that I've seen) at the Poly. Some people also have one of those Mickey-shaped doorknob hangers with the bells on their doors.

Obviously I would do nothing to ruin the doors. Didn't realize it would bug other guests so never mind. I have never visited at christmas but have read of people adding a little something for their kids. Sorry, wasn't trying to stir up anything.

I know that decorating of doors and windows is fairly common at the values and moderates, but I have to say that I've never seen a decorated door at a deluxe. I honestly don't know if that's because the resorts frown on it, or if it's something about the indoor corridors that makes people hesitate to decorate.

I would agree that if you do hang a wreath, be careful not to scratch the door or leave any sort of residue. Resorts have been known to assess cleaning fees when decorations do damage or require extra work for housekeeping.

I wasn't going to do anythin a la Clark Griswald just a wreath or something. But I guess we'll just keep things as the are and leave it at that.

Just wanted to add, you're welcome to decorate the inside of your room in any way you'd like. Lots of folks bring decorations along to make the room a bit more festive for the holidays, perhaps you could put the wreath on the inside of the door, hang stockings on doorknobs, put up clings on the balcony door, etc.

Let's see as for Deluxes I have seen doors decorated at AKL, Poly concierge level and the Beach Club - so it is not unheard of.
