Anyone have any pictures of their rooms done in a Disney theme? I am having a hard time deciding what colors to use. I love Mickey. I am also redoing the bathroom.

Any suggestions or pics will be great!!

I don't have pictures but I painted my bathroom the Home Depot Disney color of Woozle green, it is very cute.

I am also a big fan of Manny Hernandez and have a decorated a couple of areas of our house with his Disney prints. Even if you don't want to spend the money on one you could look at a print by him or another Disney artist you like for color inspiration.

Do you know anywhere to get Mickey Mouse accessories? Such as a shower curtain, mirror, rugs, towels etc???

akcire, where did you get prints from Manny Hernandez? Are they as high priced as Thomas Kincade prints?

We have a Disney room in the lowest level of the house, around the size of a small bedroom. The top half of the wall is bright yellow and the lower half is a Mickey red with a Mickey wallpaper border in between (the paint colors are from the Disney paint collection). The furniture is all black. I will look and see if I have any pics of it online.

Found some, there are older pics from about 2 years ago... they can give you an idea at least

OT, but I definitely thought you meant decorating your (hotel) room while in Disney. I thought "Wow! She's doing a color scheme and everything!!" :lmao:

Sigh...guess that means I'm wishing I was in Disney more than I thought...

That is funny!!:rotfl2: I wish I was going to Disney instead of decorating my bedroom. I guess I am decorating with Mickey help with my addiction.

I have been buying them for 6 or 7 years. As a kid I was not allowed stuffed animals (we lived/moved in countries that could have huge bug infestations), I don't really wear t-shirts with images, and I try to keep my clutter to a minimum--these prints were my souvenirs.

I bought a couple at Disney in the parks, one or two from the Disney catalogue (remember those days), and a couple online. Retail price used to be about $250.00, now they are around $350; but honestly I have paid as little as $50 (unframed) or $100 (framed). I just like the way he draws the character's faces. Also all of the ones I have purchased framed have been done very well, and getting anything poster sized framed nicely is expensive. The framing is excellent quality and really "classes-up" the Disney theme--so I don't feel like I live in a college dorm room any longer.

I have 7 of them, there is an 8th one I just didn't like (and I really don't have the wall space anymore, I have a small house).

You can google them if you want to see them....some of the titles are:

The big 50 (disneyland's 50 birthday)
Halfway Home (Motorcycle Roadtrip)
Arriving in Style (Sacramento Railroad theme)
The Happiest Street on Earth (Mainstreet DL)
A day at the studio (Disney Studios)
Friends in the woods (Winnie the Pooh)
Engine 55 (Tribute to Firemen)
Celebration (mainstreet WDW)

I have included a brief description of the prints

I also went to the Disney shopping website and they have a few on their site, may be easier to check out that way.

He used to go by Manny Hernandez, but he may also be listed as Manuel Hernandez on their site, we just really dig the happy character faces.

Good luck on your decorating.

well I got a start......I just ordered silver shower curtain rings with Mickey heads on them from the disney store.com They were on sale for 9.99 reg 39.99 I am excited to get this going....

My son wanted a Mickey room exactly like the bedroom he stayed in when we went to Windsor Hills a few years ago. We actually contacted the owner and got info on everything in the room. We were able to copy the room within reason. We didn't get the Mickey furniture because DS already had good furniture. He has the exact same blue paint, same bedding, lamp, pictures etc.

I would love to do another Mickey room, but DH doesn't want me too. :confused3

When I am dreaming about what I would do, I go to the Windsor Hills website and look at all the Mickey themed rooms on that site. I get lots of ideas from there.

I did a Mickey theme in my master bath. I bought a Mickey shower curtain, I had some black Mickey head towels I bought several years ago online. I also used plain red towels and red bath rugs. Very simple and inexpensive.

The walls are the Disney color 'Main Street Lights'...I wanted a yellow but didn't want to overdo it with something like the color of Mickey's shoes...I think my shower curtain and other decor is "loud" enough the way it is. ;)

I got all of the Mickey bath accessories including the wall border at Sears several years ago, but Disneystore.com comes out with cute bathroom set designs every now and then.

Thanks so cute....I think I might have to use my circut to make some things for my room. I could cut out Mickey's and put on silver toothbrush holder, soap dish etc. Where did you find the mirror and the drawer pulls? Too cute.

The drawer pulls I got at World of Disney in Downtown Disney...my dad actually made the mirror for me, as well as the cabinet. :)

Making your own decor can be fun. I keep wanting to make some kind of Mickey wall decoration for the other side of the room, but never got around to it. :rolleyes1
