Decorating Help

I'm working on my kitchen. The breakfast area will have Coke Logo things. I have a coke fan, and lots of misc things that I'll put on shelves on the walls. I have an old table that I want to redo. I was going to paint it black & the chairs red w/ black legs. I couldn't decide what to do with the top of the table. Saw these on ebay and thought they might make a neat table top. What do you think? I would cover them with polyurethane to make it a surface we can use.

There are bay windows behind that I'm going to get faux wood blinds for the same color as the walls. I'm considering using this fabric to drape over the top.

I have two windows on the other wall and want to use this fabric as curtains there.

Hey Janette, fellow coke lover here. Gotta be classic. I am slurping down a can right now.

I like the theme. I was wondering if it might be easier in the long run to have a glass cut to size for the table instead of putting the paper on permanent. I have done too many removal jobs I guess and balk at anything too permanent. LOL.

It's okay if you don't like it. Let me know if you think it's too weird. I don't like the idea of plain black so looking for something that will work with the other things and also make a nice table.

RNMOM - the table is one I bought years ago at a garage sale. The finish is pretty bad so it really doesn't matter what I do to it. I think it would be easier to maintain with a hard finish.

That Coke fan is darling. I'm trying to get up the nerve of refinishing my bedroom furniture. I just wish there was an easier way than removing all of the old stain and reapplying a lighter stain (which is what we want -- a lighter color).

For the table What I think would look really cool is painting the coca-cola logo..like on old bottle tops..If you not that artisitic..find someone who can..or hire an artist.

That might work Steph, I could probably make a stencil with the logo on it. My DD says to paint it red with a crackle finish. That might look neat with the logo in black.

Mary Kate, my 10yo DD wants to refinish the table and keep the wood. I've tried to explain that painting is much easier than refinishing the wood. We will still have to do some sanding but we won't have to strip it.

afterwards you paint the table..put a glass covering on it..It'll last longer.
