Decorating Help, Please!!! (With Pictures!)

Love the lamp and table. I think it will look great with what you already have in there.

I agree that a pop of color is needed...if you are doing terracotta, I'd add turquoise/aqua....love those 2 colors together!!!!!

While I do love plum as a decorating color, I think it's too close to the darker brown. I think you need a real "pop" color. I don't care for yellow or green with your current palate...all I am seeing is aqua/turquoise.

All those pieces definitely work together.

To add color and to help tie the kitchen and LR together you could add a scarf to your living room curtain and the same colored scarf over your kitchen window along with an accent piece or two. I agree with PP accent colors of Blue or Green or plum or maybe a combination of two or three.

Of course, what do I know, except for my sofa, all my furniture is hand me down "antiques" :rotfl:

Thank you! :goodvibes We moved in 3 months ago, so this room is really a work in progress. We are planning on a nice big mirror on that wall... some artwork or wall sculpture on another.

I see what you mean, but I don't know if I could handle yellow. It is not my favorite color!

It's hard to pick something other than terracotta, because we have an open concept floorplan, and our kitchen is attatched to that living room... as you can see, it is really brown and "orange"...

What color would look good in the kitchen AND living room?

Look how nice the outside colors set off the living room, why not carry that into the home?
I think a warm gold, of the leaves maybe some fabric with the yellow gold tone and black trim offset....

Here is our living room.

I just bought this lamp for the corner between the sofa and the chair...

I am thinking of ordering this end table to put the lamp on...

I am just worried that the table is too traditional and the lamp too contemporary to go together. I am also worried because the table is iron and glass, and our coffee table is dark black stained wood (the coffee table has to stay... DH built it). I don't know if this helps, but FWIW, I also have this etagere lamp in another corner of the room, near the TV console...

What do you all think? Does it all work together?

"...gur-r-r-r-rl, you need yo-seff some COLOR...!"

....SRSLY, I think all the pieces will go together very nicely, but you need a little splash of color to make it all POP! Love, love, LOVE the curtain rod and curtains...
