Decorating for Fall

What is this decorating for fall?

(transplant to Virginia after 18 years in Florida. Today is the first time I have A/C off and windows open in August without being forced by hurrican power outage. My kids commented that it feels
like December.)

Glad YOU asked, Lisa... I've been around more than half a century and never thought of decorating for the fall. What does it entail? Putting up leaf wreaths or something?

We always do the interior the weekend after the 1st day of Fall. Outdoor decorations are put up the 1st weekend of October (if the weather cooperates).

For me, it means simple things -- I absolutely love fall/winter, so I like the house to look differently than it does the rest of the year
-replacing my candles for autumn scents (Leaves, Autumn Wreath)
-putting up Halloween decorations. Traditional "autumn decorations" (door wreath, cornucopia, flower arrangements) are put up in November
-outdoor decorations putting out haybales, mums, and Halloween decorations

I'm very specific... the first day of Fall.

I've only decorated for Christmas and am a FANATIC about it. I guess if I found out I was missing something I'd go overboard there, too!!

Oooh, that is GORGEOUS! Fall is the only time of year that I wish that I lived in a place where the leaves change colors.

Do all you leave it up through thanksgiving?

Mid-September for the general Fall stuff...I love switching out all my candles for Fall scents. Can't wait!!
