Decorating For Change of Seasons?

Hi. Here in Ontario, Canada spring then soon to be summer will be here. Now does anyone change thier decorating for the seasons. eg. We have got heavy dark brown curtains in our kitchen and living room, I was wanted the give them a lighter change to let the sun come in for the summer.I also have a burgandy tablecloth on our good dining room table and I want something lighter just because I don't like the show of the bare legs.
I would love our home to have a summer beach fealing. Help please.

You could make some simple ones out of muslin.
