I read on the old boards that many of you decorate your campsites. Can you tell me more about this...what you use and how? We are tent camping the first week of November and I would like to start picking up some things to decorate with. This will be our first trip to WDW.

Oh, can I somehow still get to the old boards to read some of these posts?

Thank you.

Let's see, we're checking off things in the motorhome now so what did I see--Coke awning lights ( a nice soft red glow with a downward brighter light), a Corgi on Guard sign, a Mickey whirlagig, matching Mickey and Minnie pinwheel thingies, lots of Disney beanies in the window, those two really ugly (so ugly they're cute) flowerpot/bead lights, and two solar lights for the end of the drive. (I think that's all!)

Some sites are really decorated, and some are not decorated at all. Whatever floats your boat!

Barbara--next Sunday I'll be there and I can't go to Walmart one more time:smooth:

Lagima.... When are you going??? Sometimes if you are going near a holiday you decorate with that theme. For 4th of July everyone goes crazy with decorations.Christmas also. Actually disney themed items would be fine. Also if you have lawn decorations that you use at home or if you have something really different that expresses who you are use that. I have also seen people using the new rope lights up and down their site pad.I noticed in todays Target paper they have some in several colors....clear,red,purple etc.:p

We hang white Christmas lights around the awning and I made a ball out of multi-colored christmas lights and plastic cups and I hang that from my awning.

I would love to hear everyone's ideas!

We are going for the first time next month, and we are trying to think of things. One thought is that we would like to get a tarp to put over our tent and paint it like Eeyore's house. I'm not sure if we're going to end up having time to do that, though.

We have bought some Disney Princess balloons, and we'd like to find more things to put up.

We also have a bunch of things that are just for our own pleasure. We've bought Mickey plates, Minnie and Pooh cups, A Bug's Life paper tablecloth, Mulan napkins, and other stuff I can't think of. We each have a Disney beach towel to use in the comfort stations. Yesterday we bought Pooh and Disney Princesses band-aids. I'm sure several Disney stuffed animals will accompany us.

Going all out on Disney trips is just so fun, and is really not all that expensive. You can get pretty cheap Disney stuff like I listed above at Party City or WalMart/Kmart.

It's part of what I love about Disney trips... getting so much joy out of innocent little things.

One friend I know when he goes, puts up Christmas Lights and sets up his monorail set.

Hi,

Man...I bet you'll get a lot of answers on this one! Matter of fact, the best thing to do is just take notes when you do go as you'll get lots of ideas from other campers for your next trip. We go just about every month and we are always seeing something someone else has that we want too! <BG>
Normally, we set up the pathway lights that you can get at your local home store (like Lowe's or Home depot) and we run them down the side of the driveway for path lighting. We also bring a screen tent to put over the picnic table that is covered in a hand made Mickey motif with small white x-mas lights hanging under neath the top to light the table. We also bring our dish that has two black ears added on to it's round body. We alos have stuffed Disney animals hanging around in the windows, a Goofy's crossing yard sign, A mIckey wind mill on a stake and excpet for some party lights around the site that's about all we do.
Now for Holidays...that's another story! For example...our X-mas site seems to keep getting bigger and better every year!LOL!

Have fun!Mmketeer :bounce:

We just tent-camped a couple of weeks ago (weather was GORGEOUS!!!) We didn't decorate, but saw several sites where people had collected pine cones and placed them in the shape of Mickey ºoº at the front of their site. It was pretty neat!!

When we dome tented during Spring Break this year we had a very bright Disney Characters comforter on top of our queen-size air mattress and sleeping bags. I also had a Mickey vinyl tablecover on our picnic table.

TC
