Ok so I have heard that you can still get the paper decoders for the Indiana Jones cue letters at the store across the way, by asking a cast member. Has anyone ever done this? Can you actually do this? is it fun?

It is a fun thing to do. I love knowing that all the little details in the decor have a meaning. Adds to the magic!

I haven't done it in a long time, so no idea if the decoder papers are still available, but I would imagine they are.

I've never had to ask for a paper copy (I still carry one of the cards around in my wallet). As for the translating part, it's fun but time-consuming (great when the line's moving at a snail's pace or when you're stuck in line and the ride has broken down temporarily, as was often the case in the early days of the ride). The best place to really translate is right at the end of the line, after you split and go up the stairs, because along the back wall is Mara and you switch back and forth in front of it a few times (it's high enough that you can see over most people's heads). If you really want to translate all of the Mara, I recommend bringing along a pad of paper and a pen so that you can write down the letters as you translate. Also, it's fairly easy to step to the side of the line and let others who aren't translating by you as there is no Mara written in the close-quarters single-file line areas (like in the hall with the spikes).

Thats good advice I will defiantly do that! I still want to find out if I can get the cards for scrap booking as well too.

I didn't have the card but I had a printout when we went in 06. I was expecting HUGE lines but they weren't as bad as I thought. We still had fun translating Mara's warnings, it was fun. Now not as much, now we just want to ride the ride! :)

In the past I have found both versions of the card on the internet and dowloaded them to print one for each in my party.....

That version is way better than mine. Mine is a low resolution version I put in my shutterfly.

I picked up a copy at the store, a really really BAD copy. It's black and white, or more like gray and lighter gray. It's like a mimeograph at this point, and they really had to search (though I believe they ultimately found it directly under the register).
