Consider donating them to your local school/charity auction. Many fill the baskets for silent auctions. For me these baskets have a lot of sentimental value, but donating them, that could work for me!

I have also been researching the actual value of the baskets just in case I do have one worth a bit of money. So far though, it doesn't look like they are worth much.

I think you are looking in the wrong place as these can sell for quite a bit to collectors if they are in good condition. Ebay does a brisk business, for one place.

Around 10 years ago Longaberger was at the peak...ebay killed the resale market. Baskets go for VERY VERY cheap on ebay....They have really devalued sadly enough

Always a great idea to fill for silent auctions, etc.

I was a Longaberger Consultant from 1996 - 2013. Actually met Dave before he died.

Sadly the baskets have decreased dramatically in price as mentioned above.

If you want to see the going value on eBay, just do a search under already sold to see what a specific basket is going for. There are a few that still hold their value and more, but 85% or so are no where near what they were originally.

They do last - some of my originals from my 1996 start up kit still look lovely today.

My Christmas ones make me happy every year - lots of sentimental value to me.

IowaJes of course you could donate any basket, and any basket can be filled.

With the many threads about decluttering, and people having trouble letting go of specific objects, I thought this could be a good motivation to donate baskets.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts about selling baskets on Ebay. I too have been researching.

I have found that folks also have trouble decluttering when they think/or know that their items are valuable. Sadly, many times the items are no where near the monetary value they thought.

I am one who really thought I had nothing to sell. Then I began brainstorming and came up with some Princess House crystal, a few baskets, and some Christmas collections.
