Hey everyone! So I had a game plan in my head that I was going to apply for the DCP my senior year and go May 2015-Jan 2016. When I got an email that the application had been opened at the beginning of the month, I decided to apply just for the heck of it and see what would happen. My phone interview was on September 15th and I got an email on September 20th saying that I was accepted as Main Entrance Operations. I'm so beyond excited to be accepted into the program, it has been a dream of mine since I was in third grade but I'm at a cross roads with what to do. I really think that I should wait and stick to my original plan and go in a year and a half because I want to catch up on credits before I go. My main question here is if I decline the offer, will it hurt me in the future when I reapply to go as I originally planned? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! :confused3:worried::scratchin

Declining now may or may not affect your chances down the road, but understand that getting in at all requires some degree of luck. Every year, perfectly qualified students are passed over because Disney's needs change and the application pool fluctuates.

When you consider your College program as a 4 year program, when you take the time off should not affect your planned graduation date. Only you really understand your education plan and where you are on that plan, but I would encourage you to look at the bigger picture of your college career. Think of the DCP as part of that picture, whenever you do it. Early or late should not matter.

Thank you for the advice! I know that this is going to be a huge part of my college career whenever I end up going, it's just very confusing deciding what to do when personal conflicts and school conflicts interfere :/

I was offered a role in the DCP in 2007 and I accepted. A month later I was accepted into graduate school and called Disney and declined. Fast forward to 2012 and I applied again and got accepted again. I do not think it hurts your chance to decline. Good luck!
