Deck 8 vs. 9 on Disney Dream and Other Advice...

I was a few doors down in 9630 in 2014. A nice location, but I think the muster is outside, likely the same for deck 8. Deck 10 still has a bit of overhang from the pool deck above, and you can certainly see it when you look up from 9. It would be less noticeable on deck 8 , 7, 6, 5, etc. We stayed deck 8 aft this time. We felt it was a good distance for taking the stairs up to the pool deck to get a few extra steps in.

I would change rooms only if it amounted to some sort of cost savings. Proximity to activities from one floor to another is minimal. Now going from a deck 9 to a deck 4 would require more thought. Otherwise a 4a room is a 4a room.

Thanks! I feel comfortable that the room has a Murphy bed, since we are a family of 5 and I confirmed that it did with the cruise line. Now, I'm just looking more for info about the view, location on the deck, etc.
In my research another thing I considered was starboard or port side. It seems like often but not always the ship backs into castaway so starboard has a great view of castaway.

On the Dream we have stayed on both the 8th and 9th deck. For both decks there are just staterooms above and below you so you dont have to worry about club noise or other activity noise. Our favorite location is mid ship, as it makes it easy to get to activities anywhere on the ship. Have a great time!

Yes! I had read this advice somewhere else as well, and we are starboard. Excited for some good views!

We will be on the Fantasy on deck 9 midship. Originally had booked deck 10, but switched after reading negative reviews about the overhang on deck 10 verandahs.

Anyway, there was a price difference between deck 8, and 9&10- these being the same price.

Is this normal?
Yes--if it is the deluxe family stateroom, the 4A rooms are on 9 and 10, so they are the same price. Deck 8 has the 4B category, hence the lesser price.
