Can't remember the category without looking it up, but it was a regular mid ship verandah that slept 4. It was not the larger family verandas as those rooms look a bit longer on the deck layout.
We really loved the mid ship location, but since there are rooms above and below that deck, it was a guarantee of two or more decks to travel to go anywhere. Conversely, we stayed deck 2 midship interior on Magic last summer as we didn't expect to use our verandah while crossing the North Sea. We liked being close to certain things, like the lobby and restaurants, but -of course- the pool deck/drink machines/Cabanas restaurant were much farther of a walk and some days required the elevators. Oh, and on the Magic one wall was shared with Edge (tween club) but sound insulation was great and I worried about tweens running the hallways since we were just around the corner, but it was actually quiet! Maybe they were just an especially well behaved group of kids!
It is not a great comparison between the Magic and the Dream class ships-different size and number of passengers. If I were picking a verandah on the Dream again, I would certainly consider Deck 8 again. Good luck!
