Deck 8 - are the rooms noisy?

I'm thinking of booking a cat 4 room for a 7 day cruise on DCL. With all the deck 9 stuff above us, will we hear a lot of noise from above?

We were in 8542 and didn't hear a thing. I purposely booked one closer to the 'front' (or was it the back?) anyway.........it was under the Vista Spa area so we assumed there would be limited noise - and there was none. HTH

I think it depends on what is above you and where you are. We were in 8092, just about as far aft as you can get. There is only Topsiders above where we were and no outdoor seating for scraping chairs. Now, that's on the port side, on the starboard side, there is outdoor seating there, so maybe some noise. If you're under one of the pool decks you can hear when they are rearranging the pool chairs in the AM. Being under the Vista Spa is another good idea, because you don't have anything above that can cause great noise. It's all personal noise levels too. Some people it bothers more than some.

We were in a cat 4 on deck 8 RIGHT under the Goofy pool. There generally wasn't much noise during the day, but particularly on the night of the tropical deck party it was pretty loud. Fortunately, my kids can sleep through pretty much anything. It wasn't enough to ruin my trip, but it was enough to make me not book one of those rooms again. On our upcoming cruise, we have 2 cat 8 rooms. Although, for us as a family of 5, this is a much better option b/c DD is getting to that "primping" stage and could stand in front of the mirror for an hour. This way, we'll have ample space. Our friend had the Walt suite and you could hear the deck 9 chairs moving around.

We had the Roy Suite and yes, it's loud. Not too many chair noises, but lots of running. I would book it again though......and bring ear plugs.
