Hello Everyone!

We are thinking about going on a cruise in January. Found a really good price for an inside cabin on deck 2. I have been on 4 cruises on different lines and have always had a window or balcony on one of the top decks. I have never had a problem with sea sickness but I am wondering if I would be able to handle a lower deck without a window. Is deck 2 still above the water line? Is there a noticeable difference with motion in lower decks?

Thanks!

I have been on three DCL trips. The first was Deck 2 inside and we loved it. The second was Deck 1 inside and we loved it. This last one was Deck 7 and we didn't like so much  Much more motion up there and the room creaked really bad. Decks 1 and 2 are very much above the water line. Since I have never sailed in a room with a view I can't comment on the difference but I also don't spend much time in my room :p You should at least give it a try so that way you will know if you need a room with a view

Enjoy!!!

Hi!

We just returned from a 3-night cruise on the Wonder and had a Deck 2 inside Stateroom, and it was wonderful! I had been on one (non-Disney) cruise in the past, and had experienced a great deal of motion sickness, so I was very concerned that that would happen again on this cruise. But it didn't at all! We barely felt any motion at all, in our inside stateroom! And we didn't miss having a window or balcony at all! The room was surprisingly large, for a stateroom, and was very comfortable! I think that you will enjoy it!

We stayed on deck 2, with a porthole. Decks 1 and 2 are definitely above the water level. I don't know if you can feel movement more in certain parts of the ship, but deck 2 was certainly not any worse than other areas.

Just returned from my cruise. We had rooms 2517 and 2519 on Deck 2. We didn't have any problems with motion sickness or claustraphobia in our rooms. They were quite comfortable. I don't think you'll have a problem. Just remember since you won't have a porthole the rooms are quite dark with the lights out. You might want to bring a light up alarm clock.
