Yesterday I received an email from Yummy Jobs (the company that are organising the disney ICP this summer) to "remind" me of what my job role was, and what it will entail. Not sure I needed to be reminded as it's all I've been thinking about for the past 3 months, but still, it was thoughtful of them :goodvibes

On the email, they also mentioned that they'd be happy to pass on our requests for work locations :cool1: By no means are these requests guaranteed, but you've still gotta try right?!

So now I have a dilemma :headache: I've been thinking this morning about where I'd like to request and have made quite a lengthy list of possible attractions. Unfortunately I can't request them all :rotfl: So that's where maybe you guys could help me  what attractions on the list would you go for? What ones really jump out at you?

Animal Kingdom
- Pangani Forest/Discovery Island Trails
- The Boneyard
- Expedition Everest
- Kali River Rapids

Magic Kingdom
- BTMR
- Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
- Haunted Mansion
- Jungle Cruise
- Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
- POTC
- Splash Mountain
- Tom Sawyer Island

Epcot
- Imageworks
- Innoventions
- Soarin'

Hollywood Studios
- Honey I Shrunk The Kids Movie Set Adventure
- Light, Motors, Action! stunt Show
- Muppet Vision 3D
- ToT

I look forward to hearing what you guys think! :goodvibes

How exciting, if it was up to me these would be my choices...even though they all are amazing :thumbsup2

Animal Kingdom
- Kali River Rapids - You can watch all the soaked people

Magic Kingdom
- Haunted Mansion - You can scare people...and I really like the costumes :goodvibes
- Jungle Cruise - If you work on the boats you can have lots of fun
- Monsters Inc Laugh Floor - One of my favourite attractions

Epcot
- Soarin' - It's Soarin' :wizard:

Hollywood Studios
- Muppet Vision 3D - :lovestruc
- ToT - Cool costumes again

For me it's all about the role play, and being able to be someone outside of your normal persona :goodvibes

Bearing that in mind I would be going for Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror as, from my own experience, these CMs seem to have a lot of fun getting into the role and interacting with the guests.
I'm sure the CMs on rides like TSM and Splash Mountain enjoy what they do - but other than loading guests into the ride cars there seems to be little scope for 'fun'

Difficult to answer without just listing my favourite attractions!!

AK - Expedition Everest.
Epcot - Test Track
DHS - Tower of Terror
MK - Haunted Mansion or Splash Mountain or Dumbo

Definitely Tower of Terror - if only for the uniform.;) Seriously though, like Kenny said, you can really get into role and have some fun.

Personally I would list all the ones you want. Make the comment that you are so happy to be going there and would work anywhere but these are your "top ten" 20 etc

If it were me and I was sorting the placements I'd be more inclined to sort somebody who listed lots of options - therefore easy going and not too pushy - rather than somebody who only listed 2 or 3 which would probably be the most popular and therefore stood les chance. Giving them lots of options I'm sure they could find you one.

Does that make sense or am I babbling....:rotfl:

I would go for Tower of Terror, Soarin' and Test Track too, ooh there's too many to choose from ;)

Thank you guys for your input :goodvibes :goodvibes

That is the exact reason why it is one of my "options"! :lmao:

I totally know what you mean. And that's why I'm contemplating HM, ToT, and POTC; I'd love to be on an attraction where we could just play up to the role!

On the other hand, I'm also craving a different type of guest interaction, and that's why I'm thinking about the things like the AK trails, Boneyard, Innoventions, Imageworks, Honey I shrunk the kids playground etc. I would love to walk around and chat to guests, answering and asking questions etc...

And all the other rides - they're on my list, because they are simply just attractions that I love.

But ultimately, I know that wherever I work I'll have lots of guest interaction and THE BEST TIME! It seems that for the majority of the time, it's just down to chance and luck where they place you... :confused3

Makes perfect sense :thumbsup2

The one that jumps out as a "not to do" is Soarin'. It would be like spending every day in a warehouse.

Personally I'd prefer the ones where you are either hamming it up with the guests or are outside for part of the time to allow you soak up the atmosphere of where you are really, truly working.

How does it work once your there do you do the same job for the whole time?

Yeah. On attractions, you stick with the same ride for the 3 months. At times you might be asked to help with the audiences for the parade and with the strollers etc, but it's pretty much just the one job for the duration :)

i'd try and pick something not repetative then.

I think the trails in AK would be lovely.

How exciting! I agree with what others have said about ToT and Haunted Mansion. It would be so much fun to play a role. I also think Innoventions would be really cool, due to the level of interaction you'd have with guests.

I bet a lot of people will request their favourite rides, without considering what it'd be like on a day-to-day basis. For example, I love Splash Mountain but I'd get bored of loading/unloading boats all day. With this in mind, I think you should put Innoventions as your first choice, as I don't think that many people would think to put it, therefore giving you a good chance of getting it. ;)

I would choose Test track or the animal trails at AK :goodvibes

I would say ToT or Soarin as they are in my 2 fav parks :)

Claire ;)

I notice it's a small world isn't on your list. :lmao:

If I hear that tune once on my whole holiday it sticks, so what would it be like listening to it all day every day :scared1:

Haha - lots of other fellow, future CMs have said that they'll end up drowning themselves if they were placed on that ride :goodvibes

While it's not at the top of my list (for obvious reasons like you mentioned :goodvibes), somebody has to do it. And if it's me, then I'll just deal with it. But let it be known that I would prefer something else.

I'm afraid that sounded ungrateful - i'm sure i'll have a blast even on IASW

I would pick something that is inside and therefore air conditioned as the heat in the summer months can be unbearable at times. POTC sticks out for me:goodvibes

:lmao: Beth you wrote that as though you suspect some of your future Disney bosses may be reading.

I certainly wouldn't see you as ungrateful for prefering not to work on 'it's a small world'
Normal - yes. Ungrateful - No.
