Decisions decisions.... advice please

also one thing I dont think anyones answered yet how does room only prices compare to the package prices on the website?

To give you an example - we paid £746 for a Montana Lakeside room in July for 4 nights for 2 adults and 1 child. using dream AP

Package price would have been £945

so a saving of £200 and we already had the APs which by this time had paid for themselves

Not sure what percentage discount we got

I think a combination of Dream and Fantasy APs is the way to go.

That way, you have one Dream AP, which you can use to book your room only discounts, shopping discounts, restaurant discounts, etc. (by the way, I've used my Dream AP for 3 visits to DLRP in a year, and its paid for itself in just shopping/restaurant discounts alone in that time, bearing in mind that your whole party can use the discounts, as long as the Dream AP holder is present:thumbsup2 ).

I can't comment on specific package prices versus room only, but I can say that our 3 trips, on a package would have come to around £850 total. In reality, I've paid a total of £434 for accommodation (twice onsite with AP discount, once offsite and using Dream APs for EMH). So with my Dream AP cost added on, that comes to approx £580. My DD was 6 when I bought my Dream AP, so hers was completely free when I bought mine.

I can extend my AP for another 12 months as I have enough sponsors, so my Dream AP will be valid for 2 years instead of 1.
DD's pass expires beginning of October, so I will get a Fantasy pass for her this time around. Hopefully we will find onsite room only prices competitive enough in this coming year to stay onsite, but if not, she's now at an age where EMH is not an essential part of a DLRP visit for us.

thanks guys thats really helpful. I rang the disney UK booking line and the guy there gave me tons of info on AP's and using them and also on the different prices. We were looking to stay in sequia lodge and he worked out it was cheaper to buy the 5 day 6 night extra night free package for there than buying the room only.

However he was kind enough to point out for our planned dates the pool/spa area is closed. Which kinda defeats the object really. So we're considering maybe cheyanne now. Room only for there was about £60-80 cheaper than the package.

one question I didnt get a chance to ask was if I get room only how do I get into the parks to buy a AP?

You can either buy an AP at the guest relations desk outside the park- you will get a temp one and need to take it to the AP office in the park or buy a one day pass and use this to get into teh park and then go to AP office- they will then refund the money you spent on the day pass.
