Decision--spend an extra night at US or Seaworld?

We will be going to US August 12 for four nights, we are thinking about spending one more night in FL (we are from WV), but we can't decide whether we want to add an extra day to US or spend a day at Seaworld. We've never been to Seaworld and I think it looks nice, but my only concern is the heat in the middle of August, at least at US/IOA we can take a mid-afternoon break (we are staying on site). We will have three kids with us, ages 13, 11 and 8. So what would you recommend?

Go for it.
The onsite hotels have a shuttle that travels to SWF. The times vary but here's what it looked like last year.
Shuttle Times
The only problem with the hotel shuttle is that it leaves after 9am, and your early morning advantage would be gone. But you can take a limo at 8am and you would arrive before opening.

Yes, it gets hot in August, but if you arrive before opening, you'd have about 3 hours before the sun is overhead.
Most of the SWF ticket deals allow you to come back a 2nd day for free. You could visit in the morning one day, then come back at night another.

Or you plan your day so you take a 2 hour lunch at Sharks, and do indoor attractions like the Polar Bear exhibit, manatee exhibit, and animal show.

Thanks for the shuttle times, I would have only one day to spend at SW, and I'm thinking that if I do go, then I'll either go at the beginning of my vacation or the end and stay at another hotel--I can save at least $100 that way. Also, we will have our car so we would plan on getting to SW early. Just can't decide if I'd rather spend that extra day at US/IOA or take a day for SW.

If you've never been to SW I would spend a day there. Four days at US/IOA is plenty of time to see everything there, especially if you get there early in the morning. We've been to SW once and will also be in the Orlando area in August and plan to spend another day or two there. My children really liked it and are looking forward to going again.

I would spend the extra day at SW. The park is usually open late in August so you could take a break during the day and then go back in the evening to catch the fireworks. It's hard to be out in the middle of day at any park in August because of the heat.
