Decision: Poly Longhouse: Newly renovated or No Noise?

Hi all you Poly Lovers,

After reading tikiman's website and other posts I am hoping to choose the right Longhouse.
Going in October, Lagoon View:

1.Do I choose Aotearoa, newly renovated (which is nice), but read they can be loud at night from Luau and monorail.

2. Do I choose Tuvalu, newly renovated but can be loud from luau and a bit of a walk to the volcano pool.

3. Do I choose Tokelau, not renovated ?(unless someone has info on this) and very few lagoon views.

4. Do I choose Tahiti, not renovated ? and possibly not avail in Oct. due to it being temp concierge.

I would love to hear your thoughts...

Since I have been packing my humidifier, I NEVER hear any noise and sleep as well as I do at home. And this is at the All Stars (toilets)!!!!

In my experience, the Lua noise (which is over before most people would go to bed) serves to add to the experience of the Poly. I wouldn't worry about that at all. And as for the monorail, they are pretty quiet, are you sure you can even hear them in the room?

I can suggest that you don't let distance be a factor in your decision; the Polynesian is only 6 minutes from end-to-end, and that's with a few stops to smell the flowers.

Can anyone who has been there recently give an update on when Concierge will be out of Tahiti?

The last I heard, Hawaii is set to be finished between mid to late September. Of course, with any renovations there can be delays or changes in schedules.

It took three and a half months to renovate Samoa. But that is a slightly smaller building than Hawaii.

According to Tikiman, who actually keeps in touch with folks who run the Polynesian concierge, the most recent official date for Tahiti completion is October 17. We'll be there 10/1-10/8 and are planning on Tahiti.
