O.K.! We finally made our decision (maybe?). Aug 4th to the 12th! Now I need your opinion.......what do you think?.....crowds, temp. all opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :cool1:

It will be hot and crowded, but you can still have a great time with a little planning. We do not take our kids out of school for vacation so we always go when it is crowded. If you know you will go again, as most dissers do, you do not have to break your neck trying to see and do EVERYTHING! When we go in the summer, we swim a lot at the pools and WPs. Next time we are going at Christmas. We will probably not swim, but we will concentrate on all of the decorations and special activities of the season. Get a good guidebook and pick the best parks for each day, use fastpass, go back to the room for a swim if you get too hot, and have a fantastically magical Disney vacation :earboy2:

August will be very hot and humid. You will still have a great time because you'll be in Disney, lol!

I'm a teacher as well and can only go during busy seasons.
Hopefully they will have e-ride nights again.
What a great time for those who enjoy the rides.
Nothing better than Main Street and ice cream at 1 a.m.

It will definitely be hot, humid, and crowded. Plan on a 10 minute thunderstorm every afternoon. Probably will be crowded, but just plan ahead and use Fast Pass and you'll be fine. You'll be in WDW, so who cares!!!!!

We're going those same dates...except we are coming home on the 14th. From everything I have read, it will be HOT HOT HOT (mid 90's plus...UGGH) and large crowds. The key is to know which parks to visit on which days and to take a break during the mid afternoon when the temps are at their highest. We are "probably" staying at POP for most of the trip, and at the Contemporary the 11th-14th (for a convention). Maybe we'll bump into you down there :wave2:

We typically go either 2nd week of June or 1st week of August. Both are crowded and hot, but we have a super time anyway. Just be prepared for the crowds, plan a little, but not overplan (the crowds will dictate some things to do). Like others have said, we take advantage of the e-ride nights, saving many of the big things in MK until then.

Take it slow, head back to the pool...this is a vacation, remember.

Very hot and humid. 90s+++ hot. Also very crowded. If this is the only time you can go, hit the parks early, plan long pool breaks in the afternoon and return to the parks around dinnertime.

Crowds thin a bit just a couple of weeks later as the kids down here (and most of the southern states) are back in school. And many families up north are prepping for school. Even one week later could produce a noticable difference in crowd levels.
