I like to take a lot of pics too. I usually get one complete set to put in a photo album then I just scrap special events of the trip like a character meal, our resort and park/ride photo's.

You mean you're supposed to eliminate pics?!?! :rotfl2:

I take WAY too many pics, too, and I don't eliminate well (besides the obviously bad ones--eyes closed, very blurry, whatever). That's how my scrapbooks end up being HUGE!! Then the extra pictures--some go in my travel album (one 2-page layout for every vacation DH & I have taken) and some go in our little Disney album (one 2-page layout for each Disney vacation).

Yes, I know--I'm no help at all! ;)

I ususally end up scrapping every pic I print....I start off by saying I'm not going to,but then Ido anyway. WHich is why I need 3 or 4 books for every trip!!! It's not just Disney though...my girls have 2 albums for every 1 year & that doesn't include school or vacations or Christmas!!!!!!! yikes

I scrap pretty much every picture as well! I just ordered almost 400 pictures of our recent trip to disneyland! Of course some of those were of the cats. I need to get started on that book (or rather books) before we go to disney world in December!

What she said. :rotfl2:

I'll go thru my digital pictures at the end of the day and eliminate the blurry, eyes closed, etc pictures. When I upload the pictures, I may eliminate a few more, sometimes while I am scrapping a layout I might eliminate a few more, but for the most part I scrap every picutres. My scrapbooks are HUGE too, and sometimes, I even have two books for one trip. :p

Isn't this sooooo hard to do? I just finished my 2006 album (well it's thisclose to be doing) and it has 85 layouts! Isn't that sick?

It really makes me think that I need to not take as many pictures when we go back this April, but how can you really not take as many pictures? Or maybe I should just plan better? Maybe not print them all, put them on disk and print as I go?

Why does it have to be so hard? :rotfl:

I too struggle with this each trip. The past 3, I pretty much scrapped them all. This time, I am determined not too. I think instead of doing a layout for each ride, each meal etc, I will combine them. I also find that it helps if I wait a bit before I start. I will finish up Christmas, Halloween and 3 bdays before I start the Dec 06 trip. Usually, when the event is not as fresh, it is easier for me to be more selective in choosing photos.

I tend to scrap everything too after the really blurry/dark/what the heck was I taking a picture of prints are eliminated. However, I will scrap some of the bad ones too if there is something about the picture that I want to keep (something that isn't there anymore usually). I will also eliminate pictures that are almost identical (maybe, I took one vertical, one horizontal, I will only scrap one).

However, to combat too many pictures I have recently learned how to resize the prints so they are easier to scrap. You can fit 2 3" x 4" pics on one 4" x 6" space, or 4 2" x 3"'s or 6 2" x 2" Then I can run a bunch of the little photos along the top, bottom or side of a page, with one or two full sized photos as focal points.

I do it this way too. I have always been a bit nuerotic when it comes to keeping my photo albums up to date. So even though I've started scrapbooking, it is just in addition to my photo albums.

I've been digital since 2001, so here is what I have:

ALL pics stay on the computer, except of course really bad ones, they get deleted.

GOOD pics get printed out and put in photo albums.

Only the BEST pics get scrapbooked.

Are you doing digital scrapping or regular scrapping? I do regular scrapping but love the pages with the little pics. I haven't figured out how to do it other than to get a color printer and print them on an 8 1/2 x 11 page and cut them down. Does anyone know if there are any websites that will print the smaller size pics?

These are pictures I've taken digitally.

In my image program, I open the pictures I want to use and resize them.

Then I open a new file sized at 4" x 6."

Then I cut and paste them into that 4" x 6" file (the resolution of the pictures and the new file needs to be the same)

Save and then upload and print from my favorite photo website. Basically, I'm still getting your standard 4" x 6" photos. Then once they arrive, I cut them apart with my paper trimmer.

On a trip I will sit at the end of the day and delete any pictures I took that day that I don't like. And then I print most of those pictures and I end up scrapping 7 out of 10 I printed. I ened up printing about 650 from our trip to WDW last year, I did use most of those, I didn't want to miss anything.
