I know i havent made it through this years vacation.. but... im thinking about my next one, whether its next year or not..

i have it down to 3 choices each of them have their pros and cons...I've never done any of them.. a con for all of them is who to go with

Going on a disney cruise: to the caribbean, its very relaxing, get to see new places.. i already have a passport so thats no problem

going to washington D.C: i would love to go to all the museums, and see all teh monuments.absolutely fascinating. and with all the museums free a bonus, though money isnt really a problem.. i could just save for longer if needed

and finally

going to england: i miss one of my friends, and would like to go visit her in london. plus go to the london museum would be amazing. All the sites in england would be amazingly fascinating to see. the haunted tower of london is a must!

can anyone help me make a decision.. they are all something i want to do..

I voted for England simply because that is what we will probably do in 2012. I LOVE it there and haven't been back in ages.

I haven't been on a Disney cruise yet (going in October), but wait until all of the ships are out before booking. They might have more choices of destinations in the next three years or so.

I've never been to Washington, DC, so I don't have an opinion on that.

I voted for England... you get to see your friend and see cool stuff.

I could be a little partial because I just moved away from the DC area, and can't stand DC for the most part.

Duh...England.:thumbsup2

DC is on my list to go to as well. I went in 1976 in 5th grade. My dh and my dd have been back a few times recently. I want to tour the museums.

I have never been on a cruise and have no desire to do that at this point. We have a boat and jet skis and that is enough boating for me. We take boating vacations frequently.

London is an amazing city, and to be there with a friend will be so special. You can go to D.C. for a shorter time. I know people love cruises, but you couldnt pay me to go on one. I'd rather experience another country any day.

I would go to England in a heartbeat over the other two choices. I was there for 6 months on a student exchange program my senior year of college (many moons ago). There is so much to see and do and the public transportation is very easy to use. Plus, if you can extend your stay a bit, you are only a few hours away from Wales (go pony trekking), Scotland (visit castles) or a ferry ride to Paris.

Oh, and you have a friend there to visit -- double bonus!

I picked England.

I went there in 1986 to visit two of my friends. One was studying in Manchester and the other in London.

I've been bugging my DH to go there since we got married, 16 years ago. He finally has agreed, but only because he's a golfer and he wants to golf at St. Andrews with our DS in Scotland.

So, as soon as I'm employed again, I'll start planning this vacation. My last trip cost me under $1,000. I would love to go to London and Edinboro actually being able to afford being there.

Now, before you go, watch The Tudors if you haven't already. Make sure to watch the bonus features because they go into the history of the Tower and some of the other palaces in which Henry VIII lived. Over the past few years, I've read up on English history so I'll be able to tour with a greater knowledge that I can share with my family.

While you're there, please have a pint of hard cider for me!

I voted for England. That is my dream place to visit in the near future.

I'm a rebel. Washington DC. Fascinating.

Although if you choose England, you elimate your "who to go with" con since your friend will be there :)

England! I really want to go there and hope to someday. Having a friend there for you makes it such a bonus.

I think all 3 sound fun! If it was up to me, I think the Disney cruise is more feasible for ME and MY family.

BUT I chose England for you b/c I get the feeling that is what you are leaning toward already and you would get to see your friend and it would be a really cool trip. I'd love to go there too.

I say LONDON! You said $$ was not the issue, I see no comparison....see a friend you miss, see London, whats to decide :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Guess I'm the only one that picked a Disney cruise! :confused3 If you haven't done it before, the Disney cruise is amazing. My kids would pick that again over any other vacation hands down. For DH and myself, it was incredible to be able to totally relax and enjoy ourselves for a week with no worries.

Second choice would be England. Especially with having a friend there to play tour guide, that would be a lot of fun. I agree with the PP that Washington can be done in a series of smaller, cheaper trips. We went last year for 3 days, and that was plenty of time. The walking, museums, monuments, tours, memorials... all fun but incredibly exhausting. Definitely not a relaxing vacation. We stayed at a Holiday Inn in Fairfax, VA when we went. $65/night with hot breakfast and close to the metro, so it is very possible to do Washington cheaply.

Sorry I'm no help - they would be a tough choice for me. I guess if you aren't gonna be able to see your friend again for a while longer I'd go with England -but if you're gonna be able to see her within the next year or so don't do it. UNLESS you get her to come to the states & vacation with you - then you get two things done - a visit with her & sightseeing.

I've been to London before & D.C. loved them both (taking family to DC in a couple of weeks) but haven't done a Disney cruise yet (would LOVE to do that)

Maybe you should ask the opinions of your travel companion? Or put all 3 in a hat & draw one & let it be chosen for you...(I guess that's what the poll is doing)

I voted for England but mainly because I'd love to go there myself. I LOVE castles though.

DC is great but a much easier and possibly shorter trip.

I voted for England. I don't know why (maybe because I don't like flying, lol) but I think of Europe and some other overseas places as once or twice in a lifetime trip (not always just not as close, flight longer, more money, spend more time there - two weeks - compared to anything closer where a vacation is normally about a week).

Are you going alone? What does your friend think? England first choice, Disney cruise second choice.

Keep us posted. :)

Go visit your friend in London. The other stuff will still be there!
