I've just spent an hour or so looking through the posts on this discussion board. My goodness! So much information!

How do people decide how to value their dvc points? I see everything from $14 - $18 dollars per point.

Is there a help with the process post? I'm new and can't even PM yet!

Depends on how quickly the points expire, what your contract states (if the resorts are closed) and how quickly you want to get rid of them.

I've always wondered how people decide that. I think the most important thing is to find someone you TRUST (on both ends, and I'm a renter!) And make sure it's covering your costs.

This might help with some info

dang I guess these boards don't allow the link.
Hurry up and get a few more posts so I can PM (private message you).

In a Pandemic when many are unable to travel you may have to discount the price per point.
A year ago price was 17-19 per point ...right now 12-16 per point depending upon resort location.
There are currently tons of dedicated reservation listed with brokers also.
Can any of your points just be transferred?

It also depends upon the home resort location.
Example: BLT ,, Poly/,more than say SSR or OKW

Ok
Bonnie I am quoting you because you say here that you are new to DVC in another thread,
You will also want to take into consideration how you will ask for payment and what that type of payment will be.
Some people do PayPal,others a bank transfer or others a cheque.
How much are you asking upfront (all or a percentage and remainder upon check in date)?

Do you have a DVC rental agreement drawn up...
If not google one or see if someone here has one they'd let you use.

Something to consider here
If someone rents from you and causes room damages YOU as the owner of the points are still on the hook to DVC.

Also experiment with the DVC website and booking tool as you will need to get back to people with
whether or not their requests are available.

Sorry Hon but there is so much to consider when doing this process and I just want you to be safe.

Hugs
Mel

"Hello,
I am new on here. I am also new to DVC membership. We have 195 Disney Vacation points that expire Feb 28, 2021.
Has anyone rented? their Disney points? How does that work and where do I go to do that?

Thank you so much Mel! It seems I need to wait 1 hour before being able to put up another post, but you are posting one after the other. Does that change once I have my 10 posts? Or am I completely missing something? LOL!
