We have a 2 bdrm Villa booked at the Sheraton Vistana Resort for a great rate. BUT, Disney is running a $69 rate per night special at their value resorts, so it would only cost us $195 more for all 7 nights to stay at Pop C.

What would you recommend we do? We have 2 kids ages 6 and 8 and we will be travelling with my mother in law and my husband's little sister who is 11. She is also handicapped and will have a wheelchair.

The Sheraton looks really really nice but I know that there is a certain magic when you stay on site.

HELP?!!?? We leave in less than 2 weeks!!

Thank you!

Is it the Sheraton 2 bdr vs. a one room at POP??? With as many people as you've got (and it sounds like you'd be paying more at least one additional person), the Sheraton two bedroom sounds like a better fit. If, however, you can get two rooms at POP for less than $200 more, I'd go with POP -- you can't beat being in the Disney magic 24/7! :goodvibes

total it would be about $200 more for both rooms at Pop. My husband is concerned about Sheraton transportation and he likes the idea of the extra magic hours at Pop

if you are going in 11 days then do the Pop (if you can). sometimes cancelling timeshare at the last minute isn't easy.

read your agreement closely.

Pop for onsite is a great benefit. Offseason not so important.

onsite you will really use those EMh. just be sure to get park hoppers on your tickets so you can go elsewhere during the non-emh.

Is one of the POP rooms a disabled room? Those rooms have very nice large bathrooms. Are the two rooms connecting?

Even if you don't have a disabled room or if the rooms aren't connecting, I would go for POP -- you'll love the EMH and transportation. We've stayed off-site and at POP and just love the VIBE and Disney immersion at POP. You'll have a blast!!

We have been many, many times, and have stayed at most of the resorts on site. We have also stayed off site, and it is without a doubt, worth staying on site!!

Transportation is great, Disney everywhere, and did I mention that not using your own transportation is great!!:rotfl: There is something about spending a late night in the park and not having to drive, and letting someone else do it for you.

I am a Vistana owner and while they provide reliable transport (i.e on schedule) it is not always very convienent (we always have a car or Minivan but have heard many grumbling about the buses and have never been able to make the bus schedule work out for us when we try to to split up it just seems like the Vistana provided transport is not flexible enough for us)

EMH access is the reason we stay on property every so often even though we own off property (we usually stay at the Swan using my SPG points or a Disney value)

On the other hand while two rooms at POP will be approximately the same size as the two bedrooms at Vistana at Vistana you will also have a Living room, a balcony, a dining table and a full kitchen not just two bedrooms to sleep in. The pools and tennis courts are fantastic and they have lots of onsite stuff for the kids. So I would stay at Vistana and rent a minivan (week long rental from Budget is about $250) the cost should be about the same as your predicting POP to cost and a you get a whole lot more room and flexibility in when your going where.

I agree with everyone else -- staying on-site is totally worth the extra cost. Transportation, EMHs, that Disney feeling all day and night... Go for it! :)

It's hard to pass a 2 br....

But staying onsite is priceless.....Try POP....

Better yet....just see how much more a mod is....
lots of great rates out there.
Enjoy

On site is the way to go. You get perks by staying on site
We considered staying off site a couple of years ago, but Im glad I came to my senses and stayed at POP. My DSIS stayed off site this past April and regretted every minute of it. She says on site only from now on. We are staying at POP again this Jan. in two rooms and we cant wait!!

We love staying on site, warning...once you stay on site you will never want to stay off site again.

Onsite always gets my vote! :thumbsup2

I've never stayed offsite...never will. When I'm at Disney...I want to LIVE in WDW & get the total experience!

Thanks everyone! Well I called and booked it. The girl was so nice at Disney room reservations, she requested the best room location and view for us -- 2 rooms connecting...one of the handicapped accessible. I found the thread with Pop pics and yes, my kids will LOVE it, especially my son. My husband's little sis is 11 and she has a disease that is not cureable. So, I figure that god forbid this might be her only time to go to Disney World, why not immerse her into the entire Disney experience for a week?

Yes, the Vistana offers a kitchen/living and tennis, etc....but realistically we won't be at the resort much. We drive in from Texas and get in really late on 7/29, my mother in law gets in via plane on the 30th and then we begin our Disney days at the parks on the 31st for 5 days. Since they have never been to Disney before we will be spending most of our time at the parks with only one day really for the hotel.

The resort looks awesome and I know we are going to love it. The reservations at the Sheraton were booked as a guest (I am not an owner) so I was able to cancel without penalty.

Thanks for the great advice!!

The other good thing is if your party has to split up to take somebody back to the room to rest or something, that you can use disney transportation and not worry about who has the car.
