Deciding between Flying Fish & Artist's Point

I'm trying to decide on where to eat dinner on our last night during our December trip. Cast of characters includes myself  , dh :coffee: ,dd soon to be 12 princess: and ds soon to be 4 pirate:. My daughter is an amazing eater and has been since she was 3. My son, let's just say he behaves nicely in restaurants (with the help of mom's magic activity pak-yeah me!) but his food repetoire is a little weak-chicken fingers, spaghetti and pizza are the primary players.

Anyhow I'm tyring to decide our last dinner-originally it was going to be Artist's Point. We had stayed at the WL on a previous trip and eaten there. It was a perfectly lovely meal and a lovely space.

We had stayed at the Boardwalk several years ago and I had looked longingly though the windows at Flying Fish but for some reason I don't remember we weren't able to fit FF into our itinerary :confused3

Anyway, I'm seeking comments on Flying Fish. We are going to have to travel from AKL to either place and would be eating an early dinner (6) since I've also assumed that people who eat later are seeking romance... and as well behaved as my son is he is a 4 year old boy... :rotfl:

Our other ADRs are:

Day 1 dinner-Boma
Day 2 lunch Tony's, dinner Raglan Road
Day 3 Lilo & Stitch breakfast at poly, late lunch Le Cellier
Day 4 Donald's breakfast at AK, dinner at Jiko
Day 5 Lunch at Coral Reef, dinner at Plaza (MVMCP)
Day 6 Lunch at Sci Fi, Dinner at Brown Derby (Fantasmic)
Day 7 TBD.......................
Day 8 breakfast at Boma and depart... :sad2:
It's an eclectic list-I tried to mix in restaurants that are simply fun experiences with some real foodie places... (Guilty as charged-self, DH, and DD are foodies... :confused3)

Anyway-which experience overall was more enjoyable-FF or AP?

:thanks:

I would go for Artist's Point over Flying Fish. My last couple meals at Flying Fish have left a lot to be desired and it is now crossed off of my list.

I am not a huge fan of Flying Fish, have had bad experiences there, I would try Artist's Point...lovely spot.

We love both AP and FF. As you have already been to AP and you know it is fantastic I would give FF a try.

Both are great restaurants...I would choose based upon what type of food your family prefers...FF if you're looking for a fish dinner and AP for meat (although the FF ny strip is very good). FF will give you more fish choices than AP and AP will give you more meat choices than FF.

If you've never eaten at FF I suggest you try it. I have been numerous times and have been satified with the food/service 75% of the time. Artist Pointe is great, but it's always fun to try something new. You gotta love the BW as well.

I would go for FF. The food is great at both places, but I would choose FF for the atmosphere and for being able to stroll the Boardwalk on your last night. Have fun!

We went to both of these restaurants during our June trip, and Flying Fish was so good we went twice! We had never been to Artist Point, and we enjoyed it, but I vote Flying Fish. The atmosphere is unique and fun, the food is absolutely wonderful, the service is great, and as an above poster said, the Boardwalk is lots of fun for your last night!

Don't miss the Chocolate Sampler dessert at Flying Fish! It's fabulous. :goodvibes

I agree. We prefer Artist Point. To us, it is somewhat quieter and certainly more romantic. Plus, we like the food better.

We LOVED Flying Fish and had great food and great service there in April. We generally eat dinner pretty early, so maybe that helps! Our daughter loved finding all fish in the restaurant, hidden and not. The location is great, too! We walked along the Boardwalk then along the countries in World Showcase and watched Illuminations! It was a great evening. :thumbsup2

My first choice would be AP, but if you want to do FF and have not done it before and have done AP then FF is also good.

ooo.... We would take FF over AP any day.
Although we have only eaten at AP once, approx 4 years ago. Wasn't bad. Just wasn't stellar.
FF mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :cool1: :cool1:

Another fan of FF here too. Now we eat there every time. Great steak and fish. Plus you can stroll the BW after dinner. Tough choice but FF wins out here.
